He probably would've killed the archbishop if Sicily hadn't bitchslapped the brainwashing right the fuck out of him.

Why Sicily is so helpless? She's an ultimate Magician too. But maybe fighting is not her best forte. And she's so gentle that she won't use her deathly skill to harm people.

So generic, so pointless, no punishment or point. If there's one thing I hate more than a kidnapping / brainwashing type event, it's a kidnapping / brainwashing event that is immediately turned over and is basically used as a jump scare cliff hanger.

So lame, no ntr, no suspense, no killing, no nothing. Everything will be alright because MC is op as fuck and he will fix everything. Shit is generic as fuck. 😴

Yeah guys, this is a bad addition to the plot that wasn't there in the novels. If we're unlucky this is going to be added to the anime. It's a bad way to make the demons more dangerous than they are or to randomly add a weakness to the MC that had to be done because the author wrote his cast too invincible.

is this series become cheap skate opera soap for a housewife and maids?

Really don't get why the demons just didn't kill Sicily or something. This was resolved too easily.

>Ok, so here comes the comp out "he was under mind control by the demons!" Yeah yeah, demons are bad.
He might be deceived by the demons, but the truth is, he always was a horrible human being. I hope the church punishes him accordingly next chapter.

> And you want to make THAT into a demon...
These people don't care much about their own survival.

@A-Chicken
>This wasn't in the WN.
These sorts of differences are commonly added when transitioning from WN to LN. At that point, the author is typically better at what he does, and it's an opportunity to revise and make more interesting the things he's written. After all, if the MC and his team just wiped the floor with the church-related intruders, it would just reinforce the impression MC is invincible. Which is considered boring.

>Yes I always wonder why people try to argue killing everyone is a rational response.
Killing people is a rational response. Communication is a fairy tale for stories like My Little Pony, in real life people don't become better until they're dead. And they tend to corrupt people around them too, just by being evil and not dead or at least punished in some other way.
It might be a rational decision to let the archbishop's own state punish him, but given that he rose to the rank of archbishop without being punished, the whole state is probably corrupt, and you should take justice into your own hands. That's just one example of how bad people corrupt others.

The thing is, being an awesome hero is not a rational decision. Other people should be just as surprised with your goodness as with your powers.

The villains were laid low by their own patriarchal prejudices. It's normal - if they were wise, they would not be villains.

@brainsucker
Yes, it was at some point in the novel said that she is too nice to use offensive magic. Since magic depends on imagination.

being wise and being villainous are not mutually exclusive traits, in fact many of the BEST villains are wiser than the MC of their respective series
...it's just that these idiots were at best half a tick above the standard grunts. they were scouts after all, so they at least knew their job was to run away with info instead of fighting to the death if they had the chance...but they still let the nobles screw them over repeatedly until many died and some of their families were destroyed and they haven't magically gotten smarter since losing their humanity and the whole perma-hate debuff of demonizing doesn't seem to have helped their wisdom stat go up much either, so in the end, because the main villain (who does seem to think ahead) wasn't overseeing things directly, they overlooked something that should have been at the top of the need to know list
