Those devils are quite fond of underestimating Shin's magic power.

Just give it time. The Church dude is just a prideful prick with no achievements. As for the Devils, they have no idea how big the Hornet's nest really is.

Oh? An unexpectedly short chapter. That's fine, though. I also noticed Tritinia decided to just use the "maou" moniker without translating it; that's great. No more fighting now -- hopefully.

I really think it would be in Shin's best interest to stop making random tools and focus on making one that's capable of detecting if a person is a demon or not. His magic exceeds top tier, and he's already shown to be able to exceed all expectations; having a device that could help make that determination would be super useful. These are the number one threat to the world you live in after all -- it should be a high priority. Then again, I haven't re-read this series in a long time, so maybe I'm forgetting something and there's a reason it's not possible.
It just seems a bit strange that more and more Shin and co. are in the presence of demons and are completely unaware. There's even one using that manipulation magic around him this time. I actually almost forgot they could do that jedi mind trick stuff, too. Even though we saw something similar with that fat bishop dude recently. Either way, shits about to go down soon with those mutated demons and the hunters. I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks for the release and the work, Tritinia. Much appreciated.

Chief Ralph isn't wrong.
It's odd to call someone an 'apostle' who doesn't believe in the thing he's supposedly the apostle of. It's a contradiction.
Maybe the original Japanese word had additional connotations.

@Northern If it's the Japanese word for apostle, then no I don't think it does. But it's also possible that somewhere between point A and point B either in the author's choice for this title or the translation process that something went slightly off track of our world's definition for apostle for whatever reason. Of note is the word champion, for instance. It can have the same meaning as apostle to some degree as a synonym, but it can also just be someone acting as a proxy for someone else regardless of how they might feel about this or that.

Like, two nobles in an old timey setting. They each pick a knight to fight on their behalf to settle some dispute. The knights don't actually have to give one half of a shit about any of it, but they're still championing the cause as it were because they're duty bound to do so.

Glomoro - You're not wrong, but to get deeper into the etymology, "apostle" is Anglicization of the Greek "apóstolos", and this is translated into Latin as "missiō", which is Anglicized as "missionary".

So Chief Ralph was pissed that the Popette appointed someone as their god's missionary, someone who didn't even believe in their god. Hard to evangelize if you don't believe what you're saying. Chief Ralph had a point.

I feel like a multi-national army attempting a quintuple column convergence without open lines of communications is something of a recipe for disaster.

You don't even need to think about it to know that the best method for defeating the demons is to just have shin fly on right over the castle undetected and do his strongest fucking spell and demolish them all when they least expect it.

just like the previsions pope, the guy is a victim, he is being influenced by the demon, he is faithful to the church, what the pope says is law, he is only opposing it because of that demon influence.
Disobey the pope is a huge sin, he would never do that normally, he is not a bad person, to have a high position on the church he is a saint @jimmyclear
