I'm afraid that at this point in time, having a rapist priest is as normal as having a corrupt politician.

Let's just be glad it wasn't a small boy this time, that would've been more believable.

Then again he could've just pushed her down for a session of tickles, we never know.

As much as I love Shin's camaraderie with Gus, it's not enough to save this manga from trashy Isekai hell.

@boag

Ahaha, man that bingo is great. Yeah, most of those are my isekai pet peeves... was reading one recently and there were two characters who were talking old-timey Japanese, one saying 'de gozaru' at the end of each sentence, and the other 'de aru' at the end of every sentence.

@boag That reminds me of the harem bingo I made long ago when I had read one-too-many of 'dem harem mangas:

Okay, so I have read the LN and for anybody worried, it's safe.
The fat POS priest attempts to kidnap and rape Sicily but the attempt is foiled and nothing bad happens except for the attempted kidnapping. And because of politics, Shin can't just straight up kill him or do anything bad (BS I know) but Gus instead uses it as a tool to basically force negotiations with the country.

As for the rest of the story, more demons, more Shin being Shin and more Sicily being cute. Also, this artist man; literally almost every female that is drawn is cute, sexy, or just downright good looking.

@boag welp you need to clarify if certain manga invoked certain number of tropes it will be ... how should i say it ? ok , for example 1~5 : not so trashy but still trashy , 6~10 : borderline trashy but still trashy , 11~15 : definitely smells trashy , 16~20 : trashy , 21~25 : extremely trashy needs to drop ... or something like that . fyi this manga has 16/25 trashy isekai manga tropes listed on bingo . you definitely needs to give trope like mc get stronger faster than any other chara , or levelled up faster , or reached max level , or even becomes godly existence

welp btw i kinda like it at 16~20 since it has the optimal entertainment value .

That sounds like the kind of BS that will really anger people. The mere idea that a magic demigod wouldn't murder the guy who tried to rape his waifu because "politics" sounds really dumb, but I'll wait till the story reaches that point before I complain about it.

They snuck in the Ugly Bastard tag, those cheeky devils. Can't ever get away from it.

I can already see this horrible NTR doujinshis now...

Basically a standard of JP stories honestly. How many times have you read a manga where a douchbag genuinely needs to either die or have his ass kicked; yet, the author pulls something out his ass while at the same time trying to promote how "peaceful" Japan is.

IIRC
He wanted to kill him, but Gus prevented him. Beside the one who came to Sicily's room was assassin instead of the pope himself.

@LibertyAlpha Japan has some of the lowest crime rates in the world though. That sounds rather “peaceful” to me, and identifying a commonality of similar and shared tropes between Asian authors in fiction does little to negate reality. Besides advocating a modern society over a medieval one isn’t something only Japanese authors do. There is a reason why we call those time periods the dark ages. I’m sure the same concept would apply to an isekai that used feudal Japan as it’s setting.

Like the rest of the comments, I also would have preferred the term "Maou" to stay in Romaji.

But I don't understand the comments about that Archbishop. Maybe the religion isn't all crap, maybe the Pope is actually pretty good, but has some cleaning to do in his ranks.
Showing us the trope-y fat rapist priest is one this, but we still don't know what the Pope is like.

My biggest complaint in this chapter is the tanned Granpa. Why the hell would he be mistaken as a delinquent because of his tan?
I know Japanese people usually try to keep their skin as white as possible, but every name, city, technology and terminology in this manga is based on Medieval Europe... where being tan just means having spent a bit of time outside... or, in the south, being born.
Trying to associate him with the commoners would be OK. But a delinquent, really?

I'm enjoying this more as romcom. The writing from part to other parts are feel disconnected, like combining to love ru and attack on Titan.

First of all on the last page I think it should be cope not cooperate....

second of all on the maou thing it was handled correctly as what they were saying was magic king but what shin was hearing was demon lord. I am also guessing that in the orginal it was split into kanji and hiragana. Now you could claim demon lord should be maou instead of demon lord, but considering that most with this opinion think it because they want more japanese in the english translation (as they think it's cooler or something) I must disagree. Purist Ideals have yet to be correct. Magic King and Demon lord are both 2 words and same syllables (2 then 1 for 3 total) which allows the joke to flow much better in English. It is difficult to translate such wordplay jokes into other languages and if they did maou and mahou (which I guess would be the most valid alternative), nevermind any arguments made against this would be basically the same argument so I shall flip my reasoning instead. If you are so comfortable with maou and mahou being used (as if you didn't know the story was originally Japanese) then you should be able to read it just as easily in the reverse, (read Demon Lord and think Maou instead of reading Maou and thinking Demon Lord, same with mahou and magic king) and yes that's exactly what I did as I read it. So in the end if this particular decision of translating maou bothers you (and yes there are plenty of times where keeping it as maou and not translating further is the correct decision), then that just means you aren't attuned with the Japanese mindset enough.

Third of all people complaining about number of tropes used, pretty much every possible plotline can be broken down into tropes now. I don't remember reading or listening to something that didn't have tropes. That includes historical based books too. So if anything 1-5 tropes should be considered normal. I guess autobiographies might not have tropes but I can't think of anyone I give a shit enough about to bother with their life story. Actually not really sure what people's fascination with other peoples private lives is all about anyways... Well maybe someone like Hugh Hefner but that's because I would be expecting sex.
