After the entire fandom spent two weeks wondering if Mitsuki was finally turning the corner, we get this?!

They should soundtrack it with a WAH WAH trombone, maybe dropping an entire drumset full of squeaky toys down the stairs.

Depressing, but not surprising to see Mizuki resorting to grand musical romantic gestures instead of having an honest conversation because she doesn't have the self esteem to do so. Will Aya say yes? It almost feel like this whole chapter is a mirage and the next chapter will see our first splash of blue.

As much as I like the post college chapters more than many of the others here, its really starting to feel like an outline of story beats that will be expanded on in the anime adaptation and given more time to breathe. I realized that these comments sections are a preview of the public reaction when the college season of the anime is finally released...non manga readers are going to lose their minds :aquadrink:

Aya had an almost motherly look in this chapter, which I guess was intentional given the big surprise.

Marriage would in fact be an obviously bad mistake at this point (green yuri + red flag = brown mess?) BUT it kicks the door open for an honest evaluation of their relationship

Edit: almost forgot to comment on how stunning that opening page was. That single green eye sent shivers down my spine.

oh fuck off

okay, I need a sanity check
was this ever actually good, or are we all stupid?
It was new(different), shiny(unique art style) at the start.
At this point I don't remember how good it was, but it surely wasn't bad.

As someone else also pointed out, I think the waiting time between each chapter, and the page count makes the friction in reading so much more amplified.

It started kinda like those loosely episodic style old canvas webtoons with vague continuity; so the 4 pages were fine.
But when the author decides to focus on serious arcs, the format hurts it (imo).

[I am a fake fan, l remember enjoying it in the earlier chapters but I dropped this sometime before/around the graduation/prom arc because I hated waiting for 4 pages of update; I did try binging when the arc concluded but didn't vibe with it anymore]

Damn. In terms of incredibly poorly timed marriage proposals where both parties do, in fact, love each other, Mitsuki is up there with Steven Universe. (He tried to skip the dating step entirely and just asked Connie Maheswaran to marry him and fuse into Stevonnie permanently.)

Never ask someone to marry you in order to avoid dealing with emotionally challenging sfuff. It won’t end well.
