Kongming knows more about the world than he lets on, while acting like an idiot. Since he seems so radically different from the previous iteration of himself and the world difficulty is different, my current theory is that he's embodied by a different person from our world playing his role (maybe isekai??), as this world is still that of a game.

A few chapters back someone also suggested he might be a variant of the second male member of the party.

Kongming's current eyes are a different color than the original player character. The original being brown and the current being more greenish gray. (The other guys eyes are a more vivid green)
