I was wondering that too, but maybe each character has their own limitations on gear? Like they all have different classes and the gear has class requirements?

I am wondering how the MC didn't have a massive hoard of materials to desynthsize weapons though.

Desynthsizing is expensive and I assume that's the reason why there's so many extra gear in there.
Not enough mats to get rid of them

I think its because its nothm worth desynthsizing because the return rate is so low. The special case here is recrafting the blood flower with fragments. Original kong ming never meeded to recycle for the blood flower because he gets one "free".

In a way its like how gear is quickly replaced in RPG games.
