Thanks for the translation mate. First thing I read after the website went back up and damn it's good albeit a bit bittersweet. Also this is the second time I've seen Kowloon romanticized in manga to such degree even though it's situated in Hong Kong. Now I kinda hoped they didn't demolish it and kept it as some sort of cultural heritage.

@Sonaldo it doesn't exist anymore, it was demolished in the early 90's

that said I'm somewhat skeptical they didn't know what a camera was. But it was honestly less pretentious/savior complex than I thought it would be. The author is new so I figured they'd be young/not even alive when the city existed.

Kowloon seems to be a manifestation of the city itself, anthropomorphized. Since the entire city seemed to know and readily trust her including the older residents, and the fact that she has no such thing as family, it seemed that way. Perhaps she wasn't very acquainted to technlology like cameras since she didn't seem to know what a journalist was, either.
It was a nice story, from an interesting author.
