All current conflicts are finished. All antagonists dealt with, all loose ends tied up- well, almost every loose end, but the ones that matter are done. Previous (living) antagonists are now friends, and life is back to normal.

So, why in the world was this not the final chapter? What next? Double beastification? Hybrids? Changing beast forms mid-fight? Human beastification, or rather Humanification, to make a super human? Nunupi coming back to life as a zombie beagle beastman? Crossover with one of the other series in the shared universe?

So where's our explanation as to how she turned from sex slave to king of all beasts? FFS author, don't you dare just leave us hanging with nothing again...

I was hoping to see if Hitomi & Nomoto will develop their relationship but that's just me wanting something that won't happen.

My man, she went to Ui's job as a sex work to find a way to see his penis
she did
They're definitely getting together.

Saying that an author is "milking" the series says you're entitled at best. This a business and I'm betting most of you aren't picking up the magazines/volumes either. Very few authors can choose to finish a series when they want - getting another series off the ground is always a gamble, and gambling with your livelihood isn't something most authors can (literally) afford.

Completely fair to say that many authors can't stick the landing for shit, though. Writing is a skill and extending a story beyond the original plan - while maintaining "off roads" for the conclusion if popularity slips - is very difficult.

oh but i haven't read since they killed off kuroi anyway :sneaky:

Death really is arbitrary in this story, I don't mind characters surviving crazy stuff but I'd appreciate more consistency on that side.

Also for those saying the manga is getting milked, I don't really see it, it's as much of a random swerve as we got when Pure was introduced. And it's the guy's job, of course he wants to keep having a safe paycheck instead of risking a new manga flopping.

I think that's a much more neutral descriptor than you're giving it credit for. I know it's usually not a point in any manga's favor when you say it's being milked since it implies that the story's being drawn out far past the writer's ability to keep it interesting, but it isn't always the case, and it's not like I think it's a personal failing of Murata himself. I also know that him and Sato have a kid to put through school now and Killing Bites is his most successful manga by far, so no shit he's milking it.
Honestly it's hard to tell. The pushing of Beastification surgeries kind of suggests some sort of power play by the Ishida but that could simply be backdrop as they just have one small arc to finish off all the remaining rivalries instead of pushing rivalries. I mean Pure vs Hitomi was building for 8 years. Given Koyomi appearing again we'd probably see her fight Pure again. Yugo and Taiga still have beef and I kind of feel like that there's something to settle between Mai and Rio as well.
Personally, I'm hoping the next tournament is a 2-v-2 tag team gimmick, since now we have so many obvious couples bound in friendship and romance by this point.
Pure + Koyomi, Haiji + Lambert, Youko + Yuugo, Rio/Oogami + Inaba, Hitomi + Nomoto, Shinozaki + Rio/Shidou (if Murata decides to give him a beast form), Gou + Aizhen, just to name a few.

That didn't feel like a finale at all, why assume we were reaching conclusion?

To be fair, yeah the manga has been around for 12 years but 137 chapters in all that time is pretty tame. A monthly release (Or bimonthly sometimes) is not exactly a rigorous schedule for a reader either. I think the tag team idea you floated could be fun and I do also think that a more low-key kind of capstone tournament arc could be a good way to finish off the series. Not everything has to end in villain escalation and other manga have done this before. Now of course to tip my hand I do hope he also keeps Shinozaki as a fighter as it would feel weird to put her back in the announcer position now. Also, I do hope we get more of Deshi and he doesn't retire her due to the trauma of being attacked back in chapter 116.

Ironically survival reveals kind of became the pattern of this past arc didn't it? Inaba, Mai, Ichinosuke, Kaori, and now Deshi (I'm personally really thankful for that one.) It is kind of funny because this was the tournament where fighters were allowed to kill each other. On that note, do we think Moe is still kicking? She got pasted but her regen is insane. Brute Otter is kind of a question mark as well considering Koyomi had been ripping her guts out. I figure Ena is fine, she just got KO'd the same way she did in the previous arc.

So having his head bitten down on by a T-Rex didn't even leave a scratch but falling out a building killed him?
Gravity OP please nerf.

Shouldn't Nomoto be the winner of two Killing Bites Tournaments now? Doesn't he get a say about what goes on in the world of Killing Bites?

>Didn't die from it
The bite killed my expectations, as expected from the master of Killing Bites.
