Literally Deus ex Machina in its laziest possible form and a shark jump, worse than a sudden zombie Apocalypse or alien overlords taking over the earth, probably the worst I've ever seen.
I thought the amnesia cliche was bad, but this is so much worse, god suddenly appearing with no foreshadowing in a series that previously had nothing to do with religion.
Ruined any faith I had in the author after all the character development and mystery build up. Feels like he died and the editor handed off the story to an intern who writes edgy fan-fiction and is the world record holder for fastest time to destroy a decent story.
Really tempted to switch my rating from a 10 to a 1 right now, but I'll give it a couple chapters to see how bad it is.

It was a tense story... right up until this point - NOW. I'm invested, but not by nearly as much. Will still keep following, but maaan that's not cool

Look, God HAS to be an asshole by his very nature if you're making an all powerful entity like him

Then again,
>God that does shit for his own amusement mostly
>"Gifts" people with ridiclous abilities to torment for his own amusement
>Creates overly complicated plans interweaving fate and manipulating events so they happen precisely as they do
>Faustian bargins left and right all over the place

Yeah, I know who this god probably is

"JUST AS PLANNED!"

Technically this was planned all along and it's not so much a "dues ex machina" as a "God is fucking around with fate from the very beginning."

I'm just going with the flow on this but I can sympathize with hating it. I mean it feels like we started reading one thing and are now reading a completely different thing.
I mean I thought this was totally going to be a "Your Lie in April", "I want to eat your Pancreas", " I Sold Off My Lifespan, For 10,000 Yen A Year", or "Ai-Ren" sort of manga.
Y'know the type that relies rather heavily on romance with the foreboding subtext of tragedy looming overhead, where you know... you just know, that by the end of the manga it'll break your heart.

This does nothing to me because it's so flippant about it, the fantasy took over the realistic aspect and ruined whatever grounding it had.
So while I'm not emotionally invested, I'll continue reading it.

(Until it drags out the plot for 100+ chapters where it eventually loses whatever themes it had and meanders about pointlessly. In which case I'm out.)

Not gonna lie, ever since Tarou ditched his glasses the story has gotten worse and worse.

I appreciate the depth the author is trying to give his characters, but these random plot twists are not it.
