@Skiepher Yeah, supernatural aspects aside you reach a few different conclusions depending on how the universe works. The world he lives in is obvious deterministic as evident of the lifespan timer BUT it's not 100% deterministic and it leads to a few different important questions. Does the count-down reflect the actions the MC takes if he wasn't aware of it? I.E. if he never knew the timer was 100 days would it countdown normally like it did for his grandmother? If yes then knowing about the timers means you would take actions differently than if you weren't aware of it BUT following this line of logic the only people who would be able to shift the timeline from it's deterministic route are people who can view these timers so it would mean there's someone else out there who can see them.

There's just not enough information given to make a solid guess. Based on different conjectures I can reach a couple of main theories with yours being one of them. I'm curious on how the author is going to handle this and I hope he doesn't go the supernatural route and goes more of a divine intervention route as that seems more fitting for a romance manga.
