Can you really call the prez a rival? Nanase already like Hosho (Probably havent truly realised its love), but its pretty clear that the prez have no chance here
Oh yeah no, I was mostly thinking of Hosho and Prez's temperament and demeanor meaning that if it turned into a triangle it could get messy.

But that assumes Nanase even looks at Prez, and honestly after the festival date I think Hosho's stepping up to be more assertive going forward.

So actually I take back my initial statement, now that I've talked myself into a different position.
Hopefully Prez doesn't stay heartbroken for long and can find a nice girl in close proximity to sweep her off her feet.

I didn't even know what was happening lmao who were these people anyway everyone looks the same
I also had similar feelings, I mostly remembered their roles from context clues, but not their names. They are mostly besties to one of the main characters, different friend groups.

my only complain is that we didn't get an update from Hosho still! i would like for her to be shown at the end remembering something atleast, but iam starting to get hang of the characters, even though Isumi looked alot like her sister but it's ok, Hope you all the best the start up of this Manga is Honestly one of the Best, Hope it doesn't end soon

Hmm... Izumi compare her ex's new gf's eye to marin's eye. So I guess the real reason of break up is ... He know the truth that izumi is gey. Immediately stop his gf and leave in hurry, afraid izumi will steal the gf ... Or afraid spread the gayness. Wasted analysis. Lol.

Anyway, this chapter feels like extra.

I think I’m finally starting to be able to tell the characters apart. There’s still a couple that I have trouble with, but it’s getting better. As for their names… yeah, no chance. I can’t even remember the names of the main two. Fortunately, they were all separated this chapter, so names weren’t an issue. Many previous chapters had me rereading several times to figure out the dialogue.

I joked about making a spreadsheet of all their names / "identifying features" on a previous chapter but I think I might do that if I get some time this coming week, because this chapter made it very clear to me that it's necessary if I don't want to reread the entire manga each time just to relearn everyone.

I mean, I enjoy re-reading it because it's a lovely little series, but I'd rather read for the enjoyment, not for feeling like I'm studying for an exam.

I bet Akane suddenly got a ponytail because she looked way too much like the other black haired girl (cant remember too lol)

I personally just hope it wont turn into some dumb drama and that the prez realise instantly that she has lost and will become a wingwoman instead

If there is drama, I hope it's between the two school factions, and not between individuals in rivalry, yeah.

Nanase & Hosho have enough problems being from opposite sides of the tracks, as it were. If Prez is getting involved, I hope it's as a bridge character hellong unify the two schools together for the Main Pair, and not as a rival to Hosho. She's in a great spot to both see that Nanase is a good person, and wield her influence with the rich girls to treat the others better.

Yeah, but knowing GL stories, she will probably become a rival…

I think it would depend on how in-deep Nanase is for Hosho.

I think I'd almost worry the Prez would make life hard academically/socially for Nanase and Hosho by forcibly separating them as "opposite sides of the school divide", before she becomes an actual love rival for Hosho. She certainly could also still be that, too, but it is dependent on Nanase's feelings and resolve, and there's the fact that Hosho seems like she wants to "step up/ramp up" her attempts at getting closer to her crush - so her cowing before Prez isn't as likely as I would have said before re-reading thjngs for clarification.

Continuing to read this genuinely feels like I have fucking face blindness. It FEELS like there's story arcs progressing, and it FEELS like they're supposedly good, but I can't fucking tell because I still can barely recognise three characters total. Genuine question to the folks that can keep up - is it good?

It's good? Light drama, not much idiocy, anyone with much screentime is implied queer. Gaydar says we're surrounded.

Weirdly I'm not hit with face-blindness the past couple volumes. You might end up focusing on hairstyles and personalities like it's a one-person show with wigs and posture changes. Or a stageplay where actors play multiple parts. Maybe this isn't a great example; I'm slightly face-blind IRL so learning this could be different for me than new readers / yuri community theatre attendees. The key is when auto-recognition mode isn't working well enough you mentally tag folks/characters manually.

It is weird since I know I had problems telling characters apart but now I latch onto the distinct parts like cat-mouth or asymmetric bangs or shoulder-length hair or sharp eyes instead of that they're all variations on the author's habitual style (which is probably closest to the MCs for a serious vs cute vibe).

Fresh example: The new lazy skiver on the student council (hopefully not a love interest) so far is just a sluggish Nanase with a hard to notice sidebraid making up her tinge scruffier hair. But [lazy sidebraid girl, curious, ¿jealous?] isn't hard to remember and now I'll check for the bump of sidebraid.

There's nothing more dumb than putting a "rival" (in love) when it is pretty much confirmed that both MC are into each other, might as well just give the 3rd wheel a girl of her own so we get more pairing rather than just simply making her a plot device for the main pair to progress their relationship.

well the good news is that the Prez just might have that already going by the Extra chapter here, so.

The one hiccup I could see the Prez imposing on the Main Pair is related to Nanase & Hosho being from "rival" schools within the building. So if she goes after Nanase, gets rejected (because of course), if she gets jealous, she could (using manga student council logic) impose enforced separation of the two halves of the school to keep them apart.

I ...do not see that happening, because up to now the Prez doesn't seem like that kind of person, and I also have no reason to believe she possesses the power to just force segregation like that unilaterally.
But I do imagine that if drama ensues with her gunning for Nanase in any capacity, her authority within the school's hierarchy coupled with Nanase being part of the "bad crowd faction" could make her a problem for the Primary Duo, just not strictly in a "traditional love triangle / battling it out with Hosho" sense, with dueling dates and whatnot.
