Reading any story entails a natural suspension of disbelief. This was the first time in my decades of reading manga, that said suspension was shattered within a handful of pages. An incredible unique, albeit discomforting, feeling that I wasn't sure was really possible until now.

I cannot help but feel that the manga was about to be axed and this was rimukoro's last ditch effort to introduce "excitement".
You can see it in the progress of the last four pages, they decide on dating in this unconventional way at the drop of a hat, breaking character thoroughly and instantly.

As others have pointed out, this is borderline torture. This isn't a happy love triangle, it's unrequited love meeting unrequited love. Even should Shijou turn bisexual overnight, there is nothing interesting left to tell with this story beat; nothing rooted in living and breathing characters anyway. Does only drama lie ahead?

I find it hard to figure out just how rimukoro wants to this to resolve and how this is meant to even progress; where the climax and the moral of the story is to lead.

It's not hate it's being realistic even if the story is fantastical. I love the constant observation that reality is seen as hate when it's just reality. No one who reads a harem story thinks it happens often in real life especially the reasons why when it's multiple girls liking a boring dude I think everyone has a base understanding that it's fictional and if it does happen in real life the guy multiple girls pine for and is willing to be in a harem situation for the dude has to be the top of the top in the food chain for it to function properly.

Poly is no different. Poly comes off as a cope especially these days when People born in the 2000s have no idea how to do a relationship let alone one that is long lasting. Unless the dude has both girls loving the dude and are willing to be bisexual with the other girl and the dude loves both girls this relationship will fail. Unless asspull writing comes in but by then you've failed your story.

Coming from one that ships and hope for the possible thruple situation in Otaku ni Yasashii Gyaru wa Inai!? , this kinda comes out strong...like, way too much
I mean, in Otaku ni, it's like author is tippytoeing on this not-common-in-mangas situation and the characters are moving in that direction slowly but with a "realistic pace".
Here, on the other hand, feels like Rimukoro dropkicked the door open and shouted "SUP BITCHES, IT'S POLY TIME". I mean, one moment we have each one of them with an unrequited love for another one and all the problems it came with, and the next one everyone goes "yeah, let's try this triangle dating".
Not that real feelings can't blossom during this "trial period", as in this chapter we were showed that Fushimi ha feelings for Shijou only but saw the boy's effort and started feeling things for him too, but it will feel like it's somewhat forced, "just so" that not one of the 3 protagonists will end up being the losing one...because it kinda feels like that already.
That being said, I'm in for it....it will probably feel a bit weird, but I'm definitely in

It more animalistic to me especially when looking at ancient Chinese history with the harems, it's so evident that polygamy is less about love more about domination and is a lot more primal and animalistically human. It's fine in a comic, sure it's fantasy so it could work out. In real life? Not so much, it's like laws, humans naturally are territorial and will fuck over those outside of their group to get what they want, monogamy in culture is a cultural law that protects the next generation and creates structure in society.

Yeah, this is just bad. As others have mentioned this situation makes no sense. This is not a situation where everyone is into everyone. It's a situation where A->B->C->Repeat where no one gets love from the one they want. It really is borderline a porn plot honestly. Blue Archive must've broken his mind. If the author really wanted this he should've developed this from the start. Notice that the sexuality issue of Shijou even being attracted to Fushimi isn't even mentioned.

Edit: Actually looking at it again, it really does feel like an attempt at dodging the axe considering how sudden it is.
