Honeslty drama aside I think the poly could have been handled better. Like there was no build up at all for lesbian girl to have any chance but she manages for the sake of plot convenience. I get that the author wants a poly ship but without build up she’s very forced addition. In fact, writer girl had a crush on the boy and as of previous chapters it’s shown the boy had a crush on writer girl. So why does she even exist in this relationship and why did they go poly? The feelings were mutual and yet they went poly. On top of that while I appreciate that the writers realized that the girl has no substance and is trying to build her up he’s absolutely rushing things right now which taints both writer girl and the boys love. They spent several chapters building their love organically through interaction between each other. However, lesb girl undermines all this and with a single hug with writer girl and she’s all flustered ( keep in mind they barely know each other )and she has no relationship woth the boy whatsoever. Now the hug itself wouldn’t be problematic for me if it had some build up but unlike with the manga the boy produced they literally have no build up or atleast such a negligible amount of build up to the concert that the hug just doesn’t feel deserved rather it feels like more she just decided to hug her without her permission and I get their in a relationship but these sorts of things have boundaries and she should have asked like writer girl did the chapter after before hugging her. Ultimately, All this forced development causes this weird ntr situation where both writer girl and boy love each other but the boy is forceably cucked by a girl who’s entire trait is that she’s obsessed with writer girl NOT him or maybe in later chapters it will be vice versa who knows. I get if they’re trying to show problems in a poly relationship but on a fundamental level this isn’t one. Rather, the author needs to focus on making the boy and lesb girl relationship have actual significant progress in a way unique to lesb girl and the boy’s relationship with each other. Like they have this dynamic of respect for each other’s talents so why is there no build up of that? It could be so interesting and ground fushimi as an actually interesting and more detailed character. You’d get to see how she as a person acts when she’s not obsessed but rather speaking from a point of simple peer review and you could actually understand the love triangle from that point on because then the boy would have an actual reason to like fushimi and keep this thing going. Overall, my complaint isn’t with their being ‘challenges’ in their relationship…it’s the fact that these so-called challenges are just the author forcing characters together because they want to write a poly ship but, I will concede that the writer did write writer girl and the boys relationship quite well, the art is good as well, and if the author can seperate fushimi from all the other lesb girls and make her an actually compelling character…I won’t have much else to criticize. Oh also justice for ojou sama she deserves more screen time.
