To be fair this guy is a good character. Author wanted to make and pathetic incel and he is just that, every word and action seems out of a forum and he uses the same logic as real toxic fans. Characterization on point
Not sure if it makes it better or worse the way he looks
Usually characters like him are depicted as ugly losers. In his case he is actually conventionally attractive and successful if Im not wrong, and yet, he still has that loser-incel mindset. Its baffling.

You know I'm not defending this dude but let's not act like vtubers/idols/pure celebrities in general are not aware of these kinds of fans yet they still decide to get into the business.

I'm not trying to blame anyone but I do think anyone going in that business should be aware that it is a business and understand you are the product. Everything about you is commercialized. A lot of people commenting here don't seem to realize/understand that.

At the end of the day these girls sell purity and these dudes eat it up. Are they gross for having some delusion about an idol or vtuber? Yes. But who is selling them that delusion and who is complicit in selling that lie?

Personally I think everyone has some fault in this in hierarchies.
I get what you try to say, but regular celebrities still deserve respect and some privacy.
And in this case... Girls become vtubers in the first place so they can keep their private life and their vtuber-self separated.
So that guy is still in the fault here.
Its not Nina fault that this loser basically followed her to her home.

The issue is that there are vtubers (some encouraged by agencies) who encourage the "its not COMPLETELY impossible they'll fuck me" parasocial relationship because it generates profit and blinded by $$$ they don't get the people who are clearly too invested to pump the brakes and go touch grass. There was some vtuber, I forget who, who was letting whales buy face time with their irl selves (IIRC it was hookups at cons but my brain has smoothed out those neurons and that might be wrong). In the same write up, they interviewed some other vtuber as a constrast to that and the main thing they were writing about (that one lady in japan who got stabbed by the guy she strung along for $900K and then mocked on her stream) about some vtuber (I think it was a guy) who said they had a cap on donations from individual fans specifically to stop watchers from getting overly invested and obsessed.

Anyway, we can all agree in this case:
  • Nina hasn't done anything to encourage/cultivate parasocial obsessive fans.
  • This dude is a Lvl 999 creeper and needs to get punched until he stops.
  • He needs to mind his own business; If he really didn't want to know about Nina having a boyfriend, he shouldn't have investigated and he'd still be blissfully in Schrodinger's Chat.
  • If he really cared about her being happy, he wouldn't be creeping at her door.
