I think there's very little that could justify what was happening to Uichi at the start of this manga. If Uichi had done something truly heinous I'm fairly sure people would be bullying him for that rather than being manipulated into bullying him by Yae + Clover, and barely understanding why they were doing it on reflection.
Crazy thought: What if she was the one who was getting bullied, but got off on it like Shirosaki from Venus Puts Fur On Me, and Uichi stopped and she swore vengeance ever since?

I know which one you’re referring to. I think that ‘reason’ just made me hate the main/overarching antagonist all the more cuz of how benign and simple it was. That and the fact he barely remembered it when asked years later.

My guess is that she tried to comfort him but he was already breaking by the time she stopped being a bystander so now she hates him for lashing out at her. It's not gonna change anyone's opinion that she's a bitch. Rather, the author will be shocked that we'll hate her even more.
