If you read Emma (or watch any of the movie/TV adaptions) you'll see the male lead basically call the female lead stupid and ridiculous the entire time and at the end they get married and that's a story so popular that there was a movie made of it over 200 years since it was published.

Random insane theory but what if the real mastermind was Uichi all along. He came from a timeline where he survived, but with the cost of Yotsuha dying cuz of her illness since she delayed the treatment for a semester. What if he tried to kill himself repeatedly so that Yotsuha would give up. Or an even more insane theory, this was all Yotsuha's dream while she's in coma. It could even be Uichi's dream (delusion maybe).

Your right on that (my brother), he's finally getting hit with the Surprisingly Realistic Results of his bad decisions. Best I'll say is I DID warn him (and have three decades worth of 'I told you so" like I'm Francine Smith from American Dad to him LOL) on one hand, I'm sad since he still is my little brother I held in my hands when I was five, my FIRST sibling of three, Watched him grow, but he's a big boy and I warned him till Gram finally convinced my stubborn ass that "I wasn't his keeper" like he liked to ACT like I was (while acting like I wasn't! honestly....no, she would have still been just as vengeful because he would have still been the first person to shatter her little reality. The girl is just narcissistic and crazy...now watch as i would not be surprised if we find out later his rejection of her...caused her to have some psycho form of love (almost harley quinn levels) for the MC.

It probably would have been worse if Uichi actually said there's someone else he has his eye on.
