TBH it's his fault for not cleaning house right away after the king died. Hell, he probably could have pulled off a coup and put the older prince on the throne before Qin even began the invasion if he resolved himself. He is a patriot with a savior complex, somehow believing that even the most corrupt government will pull trough/reform itself at a time of crisis. Kaine is right in saying he has done nothing wrong, but in a sense his inability to do the "wrong" things landed them in that mess. Following that thought, defecting to Qin would have saved the most lives on Zhao's side, even if that meant the end of Zhao as a kingdom. I wonder if he will reflect on Sei/Shin's ideal of a unified china before his eventual death.

I think what can happen here is either another rebellion within zhao and riboku's side will win or Riboku's side can instead sell information or help qi with conquering zhao and have them reinstated as some kind of governor for the whole of zhao.

Historically, after Qin captured Kantan and King Sen, Prince Ka declared himself as King of Zhao and led resistance against Qin in Northern China for 4 years before finally defeated by Ouhon and taken prisoner, his son become official of Qin.

If Riboku isn't dead I predict he and the royal family will defect to Qin. In the Riboku spin-off i'm pretty sure he was in a nation that wasn't Zhao so I don't think he has much loyalty to Zhao. I don't know why he was serving the previous Zhao king but with the new one wanting him dead and Riboku himself saying the crown prince has no chance of succession they have no chance of survivning if they return to zhao. Ei Sei wants to unify China so I feel like Riboku who seems to be devoted to the nation he serves would be a valuable asset. This is pure speculation I don't want to google the actual history to find out what happens.

I wanted Riboku dead ever since Ouki's death, but i wanted it to be in battle by Shin's hand after a crazy fight, like the last one against Houken... This is Just sad, after everything he has done for his country... Zhao do deserve to fall

It would be great if Riboku decides to ally with Qin in exchange for Ka prince's life hoping that someday he rose again to reclame Zhao's land... Of course that never happens but well
