looking at the map last chapter it seems pretty obvious that they would need to take Hango first, it's between you and Gi'an, you would be cut off if you don't take it first.
Armies don't always take every city on their way, plenty of times they skip them to rush and reach a more important target. So it's not really as obvious, and I don't think Riboku has enough soldiers to split his armies and defend both from such a threat.

Regardless, knowing Riboku's feats, he probably already foresaw it and is waiting for them at Hango.

Logistics back in those days was mainly the supply wagon armies carried around for themselves.

The continous logistic lines we think of today wouldn't make an appearance before professional armies started to take over (to mantain a flow of payments to the soldiers, around the 1400s in Europe but possibly earlier in other regions), and really cemented themselves in warfare with WW1. Before then, skipping cities wasn't a big deal as long as you had enough supplies.
