We tried to convey the nuance in english too, but just to be clear, the way that dude said it implies that they decided it recently. So it’s a bunch of lies but they are going to stick to it. It's as the TL said. Kino no Tabi has a lot of nuanced writing and art that's kind of 'blink and you'll miss it'. It requires a certain level of media literacy and focus on the artwork to catch all the little nods. I tried to keep as much of the nuances as possible when doing the PR, so even the translations of the nuances are gonna be a little hard to catch some time.
