Oh my, who could've guessed, Dee was the lord himself?
But seriously speaking, he better have a heir apparent readied, if he just travels alone to the heart of a cursed forest to meet a hostile witch... That is also called "ending your dynasty and having the crown seize your domain".

Marietta should now go and feed the village. Surprisingly many issues can be solved with good food.

Not how a flooding river works, but whatever, that's still a step toward changing people's impression of her.
Expected her to build a dam or something, not just magic away some water. Wonder how much water you'd actually have to drain to end a flood?

Hes actually not the lord of this domain, Hes living with Grandpa in order to avoid political disputes with his brother while dealing with Claudette, as hes technically the second heir to the Imperial Throne. Hes also one of the only people aware that Claudette didnt summon just a regular dragon but a Holy Dragon, which means she was not evil since it remained loyal to her. He doesnt actually know who Claudette is, just that Claudette is not Mariette because she doesnt have the Holy Dragon is serving the national enemy's Queen Mariette, and that this witch identifies herself and behaves as though she is a princess named Mariette.

Unfortunately the whole plot is resolved by Asspullium.

Yeah. Any water she magicked away is obviously instantly replaced as new water arrives from upstream. And had she not magicked away the water, it would have magicked itself away anyway (aka flowed downstreams)
