Well, criminals often enough get away scot-free and she believed (rightfully so), he'd try something against her to. She could have let him go, for him to find a new target or to get back at her, but she wanted to scare him at least, when he's going to escape his punishment anyway. I can't blame her. You can only put trust in the law, if it does work. If it fails often enough, there is no trust.

Yeah... Nope. If someone is capable of going that far, it really means that your police is not trusted, and if someone is constantly thinking that the person who with they live could try and do something horrible to you at any moment with no one actually triying to protect you (or letting you know about it in this case) then there is not much that they could other than try to take things on their hands.

These chapter are just the author trying to justify his decisions, probably because he got called out on them either by staff, friends or fans earlier on.

The owl EXPLICITLY mentioned the contract to the woman which clearly indicated death was a probable thing to happen. Don't pretend she was making a simple request to scare him. It was clear as day that "ninja services" means murder. The readers understand this clearly because THAT'S WHAT NINJAS DO. The guy was scared when he tried to push her into the owl, her contract would have been fine then and there if that were the case.

She knew what she was doing. The husband didn't prevent some giant mistake in translation, he ran in when he wasn't supposed to. The police were not investigating this guy, at all, and I don't believe the author's attempt to convince otherwise. Assuming the guy who was hired to rape her outright said who it was that hired him, how long had they been waiting that she had enough time to do all of this? Why didn't they inform her that her future husband was under investigation? Why didn't they secure her safety, alerting her to their activities, before anything else? She's living with someone who tried to harm her, does that not matter? Why did they not just arrest him? What's left to investigate when someone who is hired to do something says "This guy hired me"? At least take the jerk in for questioning!

The author messed up and looked back to realize he made huge moral errors in his story that had to be corrected. Unfortunately, his attempts to fix said error only makes more errors. One of said errors being that the police are now completely incompetent. Good job, guy. You took one step forward and eight steps back.

@Hitspark 1000% agree, I went in a rant too, but this makes me see that the end was even worse than what I read

Oh such a lame, contrived and childish way of resolving things. What a load of garbage. Agreed with @Hitspark.

Yeah, because the popo are just like they're shown on the crime dramas and always catch the bad guys and 100% don't let heinous crimes go unpunished

Eerr, not sure why people are defending her so hard. It actually is a crime to send someone to assault a person. lol

She did try to hire an assassin but knowing culture of where they live and given that she was living with someone who is actively creating scenarios where she would be drugged and raped, I think case could be made where she would get of free. All that including hitspark said in his comment.

Even without that I would support death of scum like him.
