That depends on a couple things. Obviously Adel won't get to challenge Luke again for a month, but he also can't challenge him until he defeats at least 3 students, each ten ranks higher then his own position. Even then that assumes Luke maintains his current position.

So Abel not only needs to wait a month, but also needs climb 40 positions plus whatever Luke achieves in the meantime. And each loss is another month cooling his heels. Which meansanother month during which he looses ranks as people move to fight those above him.

The plot should have shattered as soon as Luke woke his otherworldly memories. Not only because he altered his own strength, but also because many foreground and background have changed. The Narrative might try to course correct, but the scenario has already taken another path. True some outside major events might bleed thrue, but but the train should be good and throughly derailed. All that's left is to see if the passenger cars managed to make it past the bridge, or broken at the bottom of a ravine
