I'm never going to buy eggs packed in a plastic container like seen in this chapter. Not only is there too much plastic already in the world as it is, but such a flimsy thing won't protect the eggs equally to the good old egg carton. Relying on the cardboard, I have never in my life managed to break eggs on my way home from the shop.
The Japanese have a deeply ingrained culture of not wasting food... but they are addicted to using plastic.

And with that, I mean that they wrap things in multiple layers of plastic, imagine that... there is a bag with little bread buns, like sweet bread or something like that, normally it would be just one bag for the whole bunch... but they wrap every single bun individually and put them in a bigger bag.

And they toss all the plastic away.
