Dick can't accept that he's the one at fault for everything, just because of his highborn birth, and being blessed with a class he's obviously wasting (Much like how the Principle and VP are looking down on the MC, simply for being blessed by a class viewed as garbage, and just shoot themselves in the foot in thinking that it makes it easy to antagonize him).

Can think of a few other stories with rotten sages, so it must be a new cliché that's catching on.
I mean, it's a simple trope to work against? The Sage is supposed to be the pinnacle of knowledge. The easiest thing for a MC to work against or reject.

Especially for this type of story. Where the job system implies he just gets further ahead in life without any hard work. He's a Rich Kid who was selected to get an "OP" job. And he's lorded it over people without putting in any work after getting the job/class.

"You made the bed now lie in it." fits very well in this.
he has done nothing to help his class besides slowing them down and only thought of himself.
plus add the salt to the injury he did bring his class down one rank for being a shitty tamer and humanbeing.
so all the verbale beatdown and the punch.. he deserves them ALL.

hmm now he can do pottery? that is a good skill to have if you need to store honey and such.

Honestly think it's just a variation of the now common amoral hero/brave tropes. In their quest to find new inspirations to draw in an audience they have taken to twisting traditional clichés in truely vile ways.

Decades ago the audience would be horrified if a member of the Hero's party turned traitor or was captured. Any more it's the Hero's party who are more likely to be full of amoral asshats who kill and enslave out of greed and or pleasure.

Times changes, and not always for the better...

Not probably, but will - people already spoilered it before. Sad. And IIRC nobody really gets their comeuppance for being an asshat. MC just continues to get OP and collects pokemons... I mean girls.

Glad class 20 ain't stupid enough to sink with the sage. In most other cases the class would of sunk with him till most were near death, broke, and had all their reputations ruined

I wouldn't say nobody does.

Just not Weiss in particular. It's been ages since I've read it, just remember the flashback arc was where it stalled

I mean, I ignored the instant karmas that happen to the VP often, cause thats not really a full blown karma he deserves, and I don't remember what happens to the P - something in the end happens to both, but I forgot if its bad enough to be karmic :). And all other students that wronged him part Sage - I have no info - hence why I wrote what I wrote.

If someone can give a proper spoiler with corrections - then by all means do so.

I mean, I wouldn't expect that level of karmic retribution to happen at all in this adaptation. It's a Light Hearted Comedy. Everything that's happened, qualifies under Prank War, that fails humorously. Even the Divine Craftsman, who angered the Gods, just get zapped, not exploded.

I know this is a silly manga. But this dude is SO shitty that he'd deserve some severe retribution. Like being thron in a cave with goblins.

It's not going to happen here though, I think...
