When i read this series I sort off shut my brain off, this way I can absorb the information ( not entirely mind you ) and piece it together slowly when needed.
But this has so many characters and i read the past chapters so much time ago that i don't remember all ( even if some of then are only appearing now ), and rereading this demands of me some serious preparation because i don't know if my heart can take the hurt the deaths will cause me.
One of the deaths that i still remember is that combat doll that was the lover of an administrator in a space colony close to the old planet base of the Knight Order, him taking her severed head, the look on his face... the pitifulness of a human sleeping with what was basically a sex doll and even then i could feel his love for her and her love for him... because... she was alive. These characters appeared in what i believe was 10 chapters tops ( if that ) to never be mentioned again and even now i feel for them.
......... God, this series is bad to my heart.

The doll was battle-doll with sex option. As her lover mentioned, it was usefull to relaxation of living workers of low-inhabited station. But with time passed he developed the feeling for her. As was vise versa. So he was going to stay in the station for the rest of his live due to such relationship being considered as unnormal in "proper" society. And there are some "doll-right" companies that speak about sex-relaxing function as abuse of dolls (becouse being the AI they could be considered as personalities).

Oh... So I understand what've been going on. Just like @aigoose mention in the past that there will be a cold war between Dry n Zail, while Anne wants to make a non-block party to make all balanced (no 'hot' war in the end).
Buuut... Can anyone explain why there's a cold war in the first place? I mean, they should be busy fighting Type Zero right? How come they have the luxury to destroy each other.
N last thing, can anyone also give the general connection between arc 1 (Pray), arc 2 (Van), arc 3 (Anne), arc 4 (Cold War)?
I kinda feel the connection but I feel lost to make a concrete thread between each of them...

The Cold and possibly Hot War piece -- is the most idiotic part of all KR script in my opinion. They have AGS knocking to the door and have time to make this shit.
So, thirst if the easest part, ark’s connections. During the Arin battle (Christmas of 430-th year of Stardate) the Blue Flower (the first they failed to stop) warped to Tobal. Due to Tobal being Order shadow pet and Military Plant based on it, the Pray's order to Chatterbox was simple -- destroy. Why Sion and Lenny was in the Tobal at the time -- no data. Sion should be frozen on Baltia or another Cold Hero cluster if any existed, and prepared to Arin battle. May be, because Tobal being the back up point of Arin battle and losing it make it harder to supply front line. Newerless, in the end of 11 days fight the BF (December of 430-th/January of 431-th) was bring down on Tobal by Chimera. After halfyear of it the main plot of "Town" ark started with Nelson preparations to elections. How long it was -- we don't know but in the period of 1/2-1 year Tobal announce his indepenence from order.
Why this rebellion was not crushed at the start? Becouse after dissappearance of E-34, there was left 11 BF who were fighting on the orbit of Arin and warped to nearest planets. So Dry's fraction was full hand dealed with it mess. He just can't affor any significant fleet to crush Nelson in the early days. But after, Dry performed a nice play luring the anti-Order fraction of AE to Tobal and destroy Nelson and anti-order forses both in one turn. So "Town" ark longed as nearly +-1 year due to some vaguely timeskips (Airy has not healed her wound from the Sion capture so all catastrophy longed and days/weeks).
Meanwile the war with BFs continued and was called the Prayer War. It ended in two years with 4 (1 of them was Tobal’s I suppose) of BF destroyed and 8 retreated to the deep galaxy (432-th).
After it ends, we had the Hero-1 chapter as Anne presented to funeral and went the fight for the “last time” having the mental crash at attempt to killing a queen and retired. She moved to Garion (432-th?). In the year Dry announced of AL creation (433-th) and Luna Project started at the same time.
So now there is 433-434 year of Stardate and the Cold War begins.
Why the Cold War started?
There were 4 main states – Human Alliance, Ruin (the industry corp of now is the descendants of it, as I understand), Revolutionary Union of Neo-people and Innovation Empire. Each has their Modus Operandi and all of them were against each other and all of them against the Motherland… the Blue Planet… the Earth. And so the Great War began. And the some point Empire planned to destroy Earth (First Strike of Emperor Mirada), but … AGS appeared and began their crusade, so all nations were crashed to dust and Earth now is in the deep AGS space. See the lecture of the teacher in the Sion’s ark.
So the industry and governments were fallen and humanity was at the edge of extinction. The most survivors were the Human Alliance people most closed to the “common people” term. And some bloodlines with great powers survived as well. The mixed remnant of 4 states formed Another Earth union (yeap, AE). In some point of time Mother Knight arrived and created AB-material. And two families ruling the bloodline of old – Leonhards as Neo-people and Zails as empirian formed two fractions of the Order. Due to the Great War they have some problem with each over but there was AGS. In some time, Order became not only savior but rules and dictators on the planet of their power orbit. That leaded to Tobal problem etc. It also was not so quiet friendly with AE-union being assembly of non-powered military people who were not so awed before old bloodlines.
But the war with AGS went smoothly and they thought that in 10 year they could make it +- to the some conclusion destroying all AGS warp-markers. And started to prepare Second Strike to the Earth to get in tough with anything that could help with victory etc.
So, they relaxed and remembered the old scratches of Great War and etc. And started to plan. Archrider, for example, was placed in the Arin as a tool to destroy it’s anti-air forces in fight begin. But… E-34 appeared, Mother Knight disappeared, many were killed and Order crashed. Central Order was destroyed, AB-sword production stopped and there was AGS queen of Elis-class in the heart of human space. Dry managed to hold Pray’s brood from spreading too across the human space, and place himself in the lead position of North (leaded by his aunt Phaiser, who now was stripped from it by Lea) and East (the vice-chief of what he was) Orders making an alliance with Order-liking fraction of AE and destroying the opposition. So, the Leonhard’s knight became the most powerful rullers of the Central area of human space. Meanwile, the Borderlanders holding the Absolute Defence Line from falling were mostly by the influence of Zails. Some of the forces were deployed to Prayer War (Lime’s fleet for example), that leaded to breaks in the Borders and so on…
And now, as Prayer War ended, the threat in the human heart faded, knights remembered that there is not the Mother Knight who balanced Leonhards and Zails and they remembered any small slaps they placed on each other in the long past. And all “why he shall be the ruler?” crap and so all. As there are not any strong threat as Pray for now, Zails and Leonhards have their time to find out who shall be the ruler of humanity and leader of AGS final destruction. In the shadow Ruins descendant plays their games.
And only one woman understand that this shit shall be prevented to make sure humanity lives in the long run, because no one know what is going on in the AGS deep space.

Holy... This is one of the most convoluted plot that I ever see, ha3... So, that's how it is. There are things that still in my mind, although it's not directly connected to the plot right now (for example, why the 4 factions are against the Motherland?). But, I think it will be wiser to save it later n mention it again when the plot bump that issue in the future (if any).

@rennov The immediate answer is that collectively, they've dealt with all the threats from Pray's War (namely Blue Flowers). There should still be a few type zeroes left like Fear but I assume they've gone into hiding and / or been deemed a manageable threat. Dry himself probably isn't worried about the AGs since we've seen him wipe the floor with 3 type zeros at once already.
As for the "cold war", Dry's planning something big but he'll need way more power for it, which is why he's trying to forcibly unite humanity under the flag of the AL. This creates sparks with those who want to be independent (namely the North that's trying to act as the new Knight Order).
Like @Regisentio lists, there's also a bunch of history to each faction, all contributing to the current schism and explaining the existence of smaller groups (eg Ruin, AE*).
* AE's been absorbed by AL btw.

They developed a different cultures and were too far from the Earth as i think. Just the problem of all great empires as Roman, Macedonian, England etc... but in KR case is was really different cultures. For example, Empire was like... genetic-centered eugenic state with planned marriages, forbidden free and natural child bearing (only with planned gene combiation) etc. Original Zails being perfect artificial human considered themselfs as new race of rulers and as final act of separation from original Mirada planned First Strike. See "Town-7" chapter. May be some more deep explanation will be in future chapters.
