From what I know cool kyou-sensai just approves the manuscript and makes some changes if the characters do something out of place. Aswell as gives the creators some additional advic.
in the afterwords section of one of Elmas spin-off chapters, The creator mentioned she and cool-sensai got into a argument over how Elma would react eating bad food and helping cook good food. (Probably because no food is bad to Elma.)
also this could totally happen in the main story.
