As much as the theme of this manga goes, you do learn alot about child psychology, growing-up issues, teacher's responsibility, and much more. I was curious about this whole manga after watching some review on youtube saying that this manga/anime is just a degenerate trash. After reading it until the end, all i can said that it was a very enjoyable reading with a beautiful ending. It lives up to its name and i dont have anything to complain really. Aoki and Rin is definitely going to my list of favorite couple as much as it might be a little bit controversial to some~

Loved the ending including Hougako Lunch Time(extra followup).Wish Aoki was more open with Rin about his love for her.Not sure why the manga had to end, would have loved to see more stories of all characters as they grow older.

Many things happened in this manga, but the thing I find the most particular is that; while Reiji definitely had intention of grooming Rin (not good), Rin was in a safe household, while Usa was in an abusive household, was actually molested and has been bullied in school prior to Aoki showing up, and despite Aoki questioning multiple times whether he's neglecting other students in favor of Rin, he never paid attention to Usa enough to realize that she needed his help until the very end of the last grade.
At least bro finally got to dew it after being sexually frustrated by that brat for years, taboos be damned

The main message of the manga is fundamentaly wrong. Aint no way this fuckward pedophile of an mc groom a child from 9 to fucking 16 year olds and fucking her, and it sure doenst help that the she STILL look like a 3rd after all that.

I'm glad they are together at the end, even if there was no real sex tho, sadly, i mean, after all they went through i wish there was...

That empty feeling you get when you finish reading a good fucking manga. :fml:
Truly. The manga has to end somewhere. Feels so bittersweet. The ending about the flow of time is honestly a little sad. But everyone in the end (except Kuro and Houin!) at least found someone to spend the time with. And Kuro and Houin seem at least happy.

An absolutely outstanding romance manga that tackles so many topics that manga today could never dare to. I legitimately learned a lot and loved every second of it. I will never recommend this to anyone I know in real life. 11/10.
I know right. Like maybe, maybe I could recommend this to my anime-loving friends, but even then…

I mean, sure seemed like they did to me. I guess they didn’t actually show it, but seems clear they did it.

This is one of those stories where the subject matter is very taboo yet the message it tries to convey makes it a lot more digestible. I could never recommend this series given the elements of this story but I genuinely enjoyed it. My only wish is that it had more epilouge chapters and maybe more focus on Kuro.

I feel like I could do a whole review of this series and why despite its more sketchy areas it is better than a lot of series that try to tackle this same subject. 8/10. Good read
I’m doing my second read after I don’t know how many years. Crazy how it’s well over 10 years since the series ENDED (and the authors talk about the “long years” it took them from start to end of the series). It’s like the flow of time they talk about in the manga. And Houin sensei going to college, 31 and (presumably) still not dating! I feel that as I’m about to turn 29 single :(

Manga feels like it touched on many interesting topics. But I wish it could have said more about Reji and Mimi (both overcoming their trauma) and Kuro-chan working out her feelings for Rin, like you said. Also on this second read I skipped a lot of Shirai’s and Houin’s sections (mostly interested in the main romance), so I didn’t get much out of their sections. I wonder how people feel about their stories?

Other posters say there’s a side story, so I’ll have to check that out. And one of the covers talk about an OVA? Is this animated? Would love to see more of the story, or maybe check something else out by these authors.

Great manga. Thanks authors and translators!

Although…if I’m really thankful I guess I should go buy the manga? Send translators a donation? I think Texas (where I live) recently passed a law saying you can’t own stuff like this though…hmm. Is there a way to just donate money to the authors or translators?

Sadly no, there is an extra story where she clears it saying they didn't (although they did foreplay tho)
