While I do agree that the plot is fairly well-written, it has quite a lot of problems, most of which have to do with the fact that this series has adult problems being projected into children for no reason. Don't get me wrong, it's not a moral problem, it's a problem with the suspension of disbelief (how do you expect me to believe that a 10yo is taking mature decisions as "marrying" and having daddy issues?). Or the hypocrisy when criticizing pedophilia while portraying Reiji in a good way (it is obvious that his behaviour would be categorized as abusive).

Like, seriously, if the author wanted to tackle this many problems, he could have just made the characters with 14yo or something like that; otherwise, it's pretty hard to fin believable. The setting just ends up helping the fanservice.

GaCen Shoujo lost me with its boring story progression, but the concept it had made me realize that I need a slice of life loli romance story. So one night, I decided to search for it instead of scrolling random manga. The fact that most works out there have Suggestive or Erotica tag had me question my choices at first, but I gave in.
Kodomo no Jikan was one of the higher rated in the list, but I was hesitant to pick it up at first because of Erotica tag and just how young female protagonist is (after all, I'm more into loli look, rather than actual loli). Nevertheless, I hit the Read button.

At first, while I was reading I kept questioning myself - "why am I reading this?". The focus on the ecchi stuff was just a bit too annoying to me at first. Then, around 10th chapter I finally understood that it's not just some loli goon bait - it has a story. So I continued reading. As I was reading further, I was getting more invested with story and I was getting more curious with how Kokonoe family situation, as well as how Rin and Daisuke relationship would both get handled. I also felt like as I get to understand those types of people more now, not to mention how I can relate to some of their problems. I also get to respect more all the teachers that had worked with me throughout my childhood, considering I was a problem child myself.

It was an emotional rollercoaster: happiness, sadness, angriness, anticipation.... I truly enjoyed that ride.
The way it ended was also great. Yes, I do crave to know how their lives went after the last chapter, but I also perfectly understand, that this is the last chapter of our story and a new chapter in their lives....

Thanks for the ride and have a damn good one, Rin, Daisuke, Mimi, Reiji, Kuro, Sae, Oyajima, Kyouko, Chika, and of course, Kaworu Watashiya, the creator of this, even if somewhat twisted, but wonderful experience....

One of the best mangas with lolis, the romance is good, the ecchi is amazing, the story is great, i wish there was more manga/anime as bold as this one nowadays, after all, the best part of fiction is to do/show things that one couldn't/shouldn't do in real life.
