is this manga going to end soon?
I thought this chapter will be like in like volume 15 , the last arc, she aplogized, she feels sorry, she kneeled before him. Like this is it, isn't this the end game?
It only has 10 ch... The axe probably fell mid way and they just rushed a bunch of stuff to end it by vol 2.

This is actually only part 1 of the story, WN is split in 2. It's mostly the same but they did cut some important parts, like FMCs Mom. She plays a big roll in the whole story...

I already wrote a bunch of spoilers on previous ch, but maybe i'll compile everything that happens after the manga and post them once the last ch is released.

I am not saying that Kayo is not a liar at all. I already told you the reason she is now acting remorseful is because she is probably pregnant and her future provider/slave is not having any of it.

And I am not excusing anything she has done at all. Kayo dug her own grave all on her own. I was just explaining that one of the reasons Kayo didn't have regrets before MC broke up with her is because MC was always restrained and treated Kayo with kid gloves all her life. She basically got it into her head that no matter what happens, MC will always be there to forgive her. This is not an excuse for her behavior. What Kayo did is completely wrong. This is merely giving a partial reason explaining her mentality.
The point I'm making here is that she doubled down the lying and if she could get away with it, then remorse be damned, she would keep lying if she weren't caught. She is remorseful, but only after she was caught. She kept lying, engaged even in manipulation and acting like a victim and feigned ignorance.
As I said before, she would keep dancing around these lies if she could. she would feel a bit sorry, but she would show no signs of true remorse, like apologizing to the MC for cheating, if she got away with it. She WILL keep lying if the MC didn't confront her. Girl might even frame the child his child from the looks of it as well if she got pregnant by her previous cheating partner .

EDIT: added more bold fonts to keep the point clear and edited some stuff. Key point here is if she's truly remorseful, or is it more because she got caught and suffering the consequences, and all the evidence points to the latter. Anyway not planning to make a paper out of this lol

EDIT2: Added some points about remorse and suffering the consequences and some more bold fonts for the points.

EDIT3: Also this point

I was just explaining that one of the reasons Kayo didn't have regrets before MC broke up with her is because MC was always restrained and treated Kayo with kid gloves all her life. Yep, though any communication is better, even a break up is better. Instead he was more like a backup, even tried to dump the pregnancy issue to him and tried covering it up and the cheating with lying. That is not a remorseful behavior at all.

The spoilers about the MC's family siding with Kayo because of the pregnancy made my blood boil, hope all the family apologizes to the MC with a full dogeza.

It seems to me that the novel and the manga are slightly different. Novel Kayo seems to be an unrepentant whore that is only temporarily not seeing Iketani. But manga Kayo seems to actually have real feelings for MC. Manga Kayo tells MC she rejected Iketani's offer because she finally realized that MC was "the only one I truly needed."
The timing of it makes her words lack sincerity. If no such thing transpired (her being pregnant), I don't think Kayo would even bother apologizing nor give Yuusuke attention. Those words lack sincerity when you know there is a motive behind it.

If she said the same words before she discovered she's pregnant or become aware what Iketani had done, I would buy it.
If she cut off her ties with Iketani before she confessed to the MC, I would buy it.
If she didn't wait until the MC started ignoring her and said those words, I would buy it.
If she came open about her past relationship with Iketani when she started dating the MC, I would buy it.
If she didn't actively avoid the MC and still gave him the attention while she was cheating, I probably still would buy it.

Accepting Kayo's words as is has the same energy as watching Kayo shout "I only love Yuusuke, not Iketani!" to the whole world while she makes out with Iketani in front of MC.
Question is whether or not Kayo actually loved Iketani, or if she loved the excitement of being with Iketani? From your quote from the novel, it seems like even Kayo is not even sure, herself.
You have a point. She may be unsure about her feelings toward Iketani, not just MC. Her love for them might be both superficial for all we know. However, it doesn't matter because the fact that she paid more attention to Iketani means she favored him more in one way or another. After all, action speaks louder than words. It would've been difficult to justify if her actions weren't biased towards one side only. But as we've seen, her avoiding the MC was intentional and that says something. Regardless, whatever the answer to your question is, what Kayo feels towards Iketani, for the MC it is irrelevant. To MC, Kayo never paid him attention and he is nothing but a backup.

"It took me making the same mistake twice before I finally realized what mattered"

What a crazy statement by an absolute garbage person. And it's sad there are actually real people like this.

I don't know about the original novel, but the manga clearly says that Kayo was actively avoiding Iketani for some time. Chapter 6, page 12
Sure, though it's unclear whether it occurred after he started making advances on Kayo again. It was around the same time MC confessed too. When Iketani told Kayo that he couldn't forget her, that was the time she started on cheating. So there isn't proof she actively resisted her urges.

I get what you're saying, but I don't think you're also getting the point of the other commenter's point.

Complacency can really mess up a person's values. For example, toys, some people have that one toy they will always love for as long as they live. However, they had stopped playing with it because they were given or bought a much better toy. They always spend their time playing with that newer and better toy that they've neglected the old toy. However, if you told that person to get rid of that old toy they wont, or if something happened to it they'll be devastated.

They were complacent that it will always be there when they need it, even if they neglected it, because at the end of the day or when time gets tough, they can always return to their safe item/person.

Honestly, this confrontation was written about as well as I could have reasonably hoped.

It was satisfying that Kayo revealed everything so easily, because beating around the bush at this point would be aggravating. And it's nice that Yusuke specifically noted that no matter what she says, he thinks she'd just cheat again eventually. (Though I would have liked for him to specifically call out her lack of trustworthiness.) Ultimately, she cheated on him not for any acute reason, but merely because she felt horny for a cool guy, and she only stopped because she got spooked. (And I don't think that's poorly written. Some people do just be like that.) If she were forgiven, then the moment the fear fades, the moment the urgency of this confrontation fades, she'd be right back to relying solely on her own willpower and loyalty, which she's already demonstrated to be weak as shit by folding TWICE.

Ultimately Kayo seemed destined to be mostly just a prop to get the main duo together for the romcom, so I guess I'm glad she was at least a coherent character. Extremely selfish and shortsighted, but coherent. I know the manga ends soon, but I personally would have been interested in seeing what happens to her character. Obviously the premise works better if she stays a bad person, but I also think that continuing to beat up on a villain after their defeat is kinda lame. I'm all for seeing how a character changes after they hit rock bottom. Oh well. 🤷

Well the manga does end soon but im told the light novel continues onward from here. Guess we'll see how the kind of messed up schemes she's going to do to try and get him back to her because from what i was told, it's real messed up

No, there is no eng translation as far as i know. As for it's worth, well it's not that long so if you want to sacrifice 1 afternoon/evening, sure go for it.
It's not a top tier story, but it has some good parts. As you can already see, MC is great, he's even better in the WN.

But if you don't want to read it, just check out my posts on the other ch i pretty much already wrote all the important parts. And like i said, i'll probably write the whole part 2 summary with more details once the last ch is translated just to give closure to people who want to know but don't like reading WNs.

Could have done more psychological damage but whatever at least he didn’t actually accept her apology
Sad it comes back to bite him in the ass. No insult to him though, he gave the bitch a chance to "walk away" she was just too entitled, naive, arrogant and stupid to "take the fucking hint!"

mc should've recorded their conversation, so if the cheater suddenly blames him for not wearing a safety helmet and the whole house thoughts mc did it, he have the proof
He has ALOT of evidence anyway. That would just be adding a cup of water to a LARGER CUP already near full to the top! Unneeded as it will have the water reach the TIP of the top where one wrong move will spill it over, but if you sip it will lower abit!. But either way "He's giving her a chance to walk away without Incident"
Of course she doesn't appreciate the gesture, I mean if she did, she'd have never CHEATED and spat on his good will towards her all this time! As you said, she DID in the end once her parents found out about the Pregnancy, they attempted to force HIM to take responsibility because she lies through her teeth, and worse, because of her ATTEMPT with undressing herself and his sister coming into the room seeing it! She (Sister) and by her action their PARENTS side against him intially because his sister believed she caught them doing the deed and so her and her parents are right to get on MC case for trying to "avoid responsibility" no hate to her or his parents, they saw what they saw and he DID give the bitch the chance to walk away with no one knowing any better! She could have told the truth, even a HALF TRUTH that she and MC broke up and the child was the OTHER POS child. But she decided once again to "think of NUMBER 1" so MC is FORCED to show ALL his gathered evidence! As said, if she had just ADMITTED to her parents, even in a half-truth of the break up and getting preg by another! She could have gotten out of this with just being seen as a fool. Now she's a slut, especially as MC family APOLOGIZE immediately for siding against him like that. I don't think he held a grudge since he DID keep it a secret and allowed her to control the narrative that he is LUCKY the evidence was strong enough and no one was stubborn to dismiss it!

I see it on the forums all the time, people act like EVERYONE is going to INSTANTLY know what to do in a situation where emotions are all over the place! Some will, but others might not think of it till it's NEAR too late or WAY too late!

Hindsight is 20/20 after all!

To be fair to them!
They only sided with her BECAUSE as you saw with his sister walking in, it was that incident that the sister believed the lie! Bitch doesn't give up! Her parents get involved once the pregnancy is exposed to them and I feel for them as well cause their "sweet little girl" lied to them through MC under the bus and STILL GOING THROUGH with her plan to FORCE IT! Likely thinking in TIME he'll forgive her! Remember, she's only SORRY thinking as pointed out here that she'll be forgiven and it will be let go and because things with assface didn't work out, NOT because she's remorseful!

But as said, with his sister's witness and him HIDING her cheating, this kind of bit him in the ass giving her the chance to walk away all quiet like! Thankfully he kept ALL the evidence he and FMC were gathering on the two POS and didn't hesitate as she destroyed ALL his good will by not even RESPECTING his not wanting to be around her anymore!

I loved how the POS called him "indecsive" yet his hypocritical ass is a playboy unrepentant cheater who refused to be LOYAL to the FMC by not cheating either! It's all that ARROGANCE the two had that made them THINK they were BETTER then their "BF/GF" and they DESERVE to lose them and be humilated!

For me, I don't think that she considers MC below her. There are just people who even if they love someone take advantage of their kindness.

It starts off small, like her breaking MC's treasured toy and only replacing it with a cheap knock off. It shows to them that this is enough for their partner that they'll be easily be forgiven, and it slowly escalates.

They do love them, that's why she's devastated by MC not forgiving her. If she thinks that she's below him, then she can just get someone else, but she truly loves him so it destroys her that a future with him won't be possible anymore.

Although with that said, this can still be because her plan failed. If she only wanted to sleep with MC because she's pregnant, and because MC refused so she can't trap him.
Nah, she's devastated because once Iketani leaves she'll have nobody else to play with, the boytoy MC is no longer and getting a new one will take effort and years spent on it.

There is an english translation upto WN chapter 10. It seems they stopped translating in june. It seems they have a discord, they might resume if there is interest. https://konkon.ink/read/lover-swap

NGL I wanted the MC to go back with her for the sake of revenge, not just break up and leave it at that :pout:

I don't think there is. The manga ending is slightly different and you won't see any changes from Kayo at all afaik. The novel tells more about her specifically how Kayo treasured Yuusuke in her own way, like a property at first but slowly evolved into something more genuine towards the end. I would not go into the details of that as there's plenty of events that happened afterwards, but Kayo's own way of atonement and acceptance of her fate suggested that she has changed for the better. If you're interested what happens to her, you can check the chapter また逢う日まで ~佳世からの手紙~. Her letter is written in relatively simple Japanese so machine translation should be enough.

TLDR; Read the WN if you want to make your judgement about Kayo. But if you're just here for the cheating revenge experience, the manga is a good stopping point.

My bad, I interpreted the "need" as "love" because of the previous argument. You are right, in fact, that is how Kayo saw Yuusuke, as a property. She explains that when she talked to Napolitan later on.. But I would mention that some people keep old things because of their sentimental value but some people simply store them as a backup in case of emergency, even if they end up never getting used and left to rot.
