I was going to say the exact same thing as Coldlight. Basically a blueprint story in high school setting.
I bet it will just be misunderstanding shenanigans like usual.
I skimmed through the free pages of the raws of Ch. 2-5 on cmoa. (Click the button that says 無料立読み)
Well, it's not a misunderstanding. Just like in that manga I linked previously, there's real cheating going on. At one point Yuusuke and Kotone (the other dude's gf) tail Kayo (his childhood friend & gf), only to see her meet up and kiss the other dude. Their desire for revenge is justified.
It's not really dark or depressing though, the romcom part still seems accurate even with that kind of start. I guess the expected direction here is for the male lead to get together with the other dude's gf (who I now consider the real female lead), just like the title says. I'd be surprised if it doesn't go that way.
Random stuff: apparently his aunt looks like a loli and this is actually a tag (叔母ロリ) on the source WN lol
Sure, but that's the WN. I was commenting on what little I've seen from this manga adaptation so far. WN sources usually are edgier than manga adaptations which very often get toned down. Personally, I'm not expecting this to be a 1:1 adaptation; some changes are inevitable, since publisher editors are now involved and they're often behind changes to the story in adaptations.

Oh, gotcha, I misunderstood you because I thought you were talking about the raw of the novels, as I only saw the link at the end.
Still, I'm with you on that, especially because It's not like the WN has some peak writing kek, even if it does enjoy good reviews, as it has decent portrayed grief at times, and it's like you said, a light read in general (Outside the cheating GF's payback) so I'm sure stuff will be moved around, as adapting from a WN directly especially (as it hasn't gone through the WN>LN filter neither) will always entail changes, so we will have to see how they handle this manga.
It most likely is...and at the same time...another manga about cheating. Nothing revenge Rom com about it. Just cheaters cheating cause they want to instead of breaking up
Is this really "ongoing"? The second volume's last chapter ends with "oshimai", literally "the end".
Anyway, pretty standard, with one difference from others I've seen that the girl did actually come and apologize. Though this was after things got pretty bad...
Her partner actually did it without protection once, and she reluctantly accepted since it was a "safe day", but she's still worried she might have gotten pregnant. Sure enough, the next chapter has her parents and Yuusuke's call a meeting to chew him out over her pregnancy, right up until he reveals that he'd recorded her previous confession and apology, including the part about who she'd slept with without protection.
All I'm saying is in other stories like this that I've seen, the girl is clearly shown to see the boy as only an accessory, one that she only takes interest in when she thinks he looks cool and will increase her praise and popularity, and when she's confronted about it she only cares about her own reputation and tries to put the blame on her now ex-boyfriend. In this one, it does sound like she did care about him, maybe even loved him, but she took too long to really recognize this and went much further than she should have in the process.
But all that said, it makes me think of one story I'd kind of like to see. Similar to how I want to see stories that start with NTR and have the guy fight to get his girl back, I would love to see a story where a girl fully cheated on a boy, no extenuating circumstances just plain infidelity, but comes to regret it and realize how much her now-former boyfriend means to her, and from there show her efforts to change and improve herself and really prove to him that she really won't ever do such a thing again. It'd be a long and hard journey, even for the author to try and find a way to create enough evidence that the girl really is paying for her actions and might be able to try again. But it'd be interesting to see it tried. One thing's for sure, it'd have to start with the girl admitting not just to the boy, but to the world what happened, who with, and more than enough details to ensure that she'd receive all the shaming and degradation she deserves.
Given what I wrote above about the contents now that they've ended, how does that compare to the WN? If you're worried it'll be misunderstood or give too many spoilers feel free to message instead. I'm honestly curious how the characters are set up in the novel compared to the manga.
