Hmmm I disagree that he's subconsciously attracted to her. He's trying to keep her happy and energetic because it's his job to manage her. Seeing how sad she was when her mom had work over their get-together his thought process was helping her feel happier and self-satisfaction to help her when her mom chose work over her. Nothing sexual. We even see his thought process in the car before the at home date with her.

Now things could change in the future but right now he's treating her as a kid who he must watch over and guide. She's trying to break those boundaries.

And for that matter in these types of stories I understand that they're kids going through puberty and such so they don't have any forethought or wisdom. But why don't they ever think about what social hell they're putting their crush through actively going after them when they're young. It's one thing to have a crush on someone older. Totally agree but the fact that this is a manga means it's more fun to go down the "what if he wasn't a boring adult" route. You can't do that in fictional media in other countries
