So I've been stewing on this chapter for the past week still. And I would like to also add how awful Akari's behaviour is in this chapter. Instead of discussing in what way she's dissatisfied with her relationship with Isshiki, she lets the issues stew, drops them on Isshiki one day, doesn't give Isshiki any time to reflect (or space for that matter, because who's going to listen to someone who just told them they're selfish and pretend to be nice?), and then walks away. From his perspective, she ended their friendship all of the sudden due to issues she only brought up the day she decided to end it.
Now, to be fair, Isshiki also realized he'd been feeling good about being needed and helping someone out and he did feel guilty for this. It's not completely out of the blue. Although I'd still argue there's nothing wrong with feeling good about helping others.
Then, when things go bad and Akari needs help, she ends up trying to rely on one of few supporting pillars she had, Isshiki. She personally burnt this bridge when things were going fine, and then wants his help when things are not so fine. So now his help isn't so pitying anymore? Now she's fine accepting help despite her problems with it before?
From what I can tell this chapter is framed around criticising Isshiki's behaviour, but at the end of the day I find Akari's behaviour far more objectionable. I hope there'll be some reflection on this in a future chapter, but the flashback ends here, so I'm not holding out hope.
