They also released a new colored chapter after the final chapter in the official manga page

(out of topic, and I dunno what's the price of your average kimono, but damn, 75k yen is more than the minimum wage in my country)

They did indeed, and it just came out 3 days ago.

75k JPY (about 475 USD) is pricy but relatively acceptable. If we look at what Momo’s Kansai contemporaries are doing in Osaka, Hankyu department store in Umeda will be holding a Spring Kimono fair next week with multiple vendors, and they are quoting prices at around the 60-80k JPY range.

If you want to see how much more it can be, check out the Spring 2026 catalog at the Mitsukoshi Nihombashi Kimono store for the custom sewn stuff - and yes, that’s 1.5 million JPY. I am not even sure who will drop the equivalent of 10k USD for just the Kimono itself.

On the other hand Uniqlo used to put Yakatas on sale every year after Golden week, and they are more like 6500 JPY each. Not sure if this is still a thing…

That pricing (from ~$40 for the cheapest of the cheap to $10k+ for top end with high quality but not excessive options in the $500 range) matches western suiting fairly well. There's lots of other commonalities - unusual and expensive base textiles, lower unit sales volume, specialized and complicated tooling for production automation, often used in formal contexts where price expectations are different from day to day ware, intrinsically connected with ideas of luxury and status.
