the whole point of this setup is that it’s incest that 20-30yo Japanese women don’t have to feel guilty about: all of the juicy forbidden love of an aunt/nephew pairing with none of the genetic inbreeding

nothing sus about it. adoptive sister is not the same as step sister, let alone actual sister. she was not adopted from birth either. she knew from little she had her own birth parent. if she were to take another name, then her conenction with the earl family will be cut off entirely (assuming she even take their last name at all).

she's just outsider under the Earl care, and now she get removed from teh family registry, then shes total outsider/stranger practically now
