There's pointing out errors and then there's being a prick.
Missing the point. Wasn't pointing out errors. Was calling out the crass disparity between overwhelmingly ubiquitous availability of reference material that demonstrates, even teaches, how it's done and it being done against that anyway. As in, what horrible string of events has to happen to be convinced that doing it as criticized was perfectly normal and justified despite exactly zero reliable advice to do so.
By all means, get hung up on symptoms; I question for actual causes.
