She cried her eyes out. I didn't expect that. She acctually cares so much she cried. I thought it might have been a "I plan out my future to the optimum. Tadano is cute (DISCLAIMER: Depends on the POV of a person. Opinions might differ) and dependable and I kind of liike him."-thing, but she acctually is heartbroken. It's good to see she noticed, she is lacking.

I didn't like Kawai being added to the story. Tadano really didn't need another person that wants to date him and the whole she turned him down because it will help him in the long run bs is just annoying. I just think they should have kept the girl that turned Tadano down when he was a chuuni as nothing but backstory, it worked, but now adding her now and saying she actually always liked him just doesn't sit right with me

I really am curious to why she stopped answering all of a sudden.
Maybe she reached her limit?
Because she's too busy pursuing "results" (academic, athletic) to pay attention to mere gossip. Or, to put it uncharitably, she just doesn't care about people.
This exactly. I stated earlier that first question was basically about her, the one about some kind of arrogance. She has no time to waste on 'people'. How she manages to be so effortlessly charismatic, I have no idea, but I feel like she doesn't care at all that others like her... except Tadano.

She seems like a complete opposite of Komi in some cases- she doesn't even care about being social yet somehow has gained people that consider her a friend, while Komi dearly wants connections but has struggled to make them until she met Tadano.

I still find the premise of fighting over a person ridiculous and ignores the feelings of the one that's being fought over, but at least they made the point that Kawai's mindset was flawed with this.

To be honest, he was more appropriate for her back when he was chuuni, as I feel like she hasn't gotten past that self-aborbed stage.

This whole arc sucks. It’s only result has been to make me feel bad for Kawai-San.

I really wanna see Kawai animated. She looks absolutely adorable and with Komi nonetheless? I wanna see more of her.

It's because she didn't know, the whole trip she was only focusing on herself, that's why she don't know about the happening around her.

I gotta say, I'm ready for this manga to wrap up and finish.
It's been extremely boring ever since Tadano and Komi officially got together. The art feels like it degraded, the jokes don't land, and because there's no chance that Komi and Tadano will break up there's no conflict. Nothing has or will top the Manbagi love triangle.
Things need to either get serious, or it needs to conclude. The amount of progress hasn't warranted 388 chapters.

I don't know why people dislike this arc, I find this arc cool af:
1. We learnt about the coolness of our homeboy Tadano.
2. We are introduced to a rival that is both the opposite yet in someway, the same as Komi.
3. Cool teamwork moments.

the entire premise of cancelling a relationship because somebody else is more academically capable or a better athlete is insultingly moronic, she should have been laughed out of the room the moment she proposed it.
I never felt that premise was ever taken seriously. Komi's a bit insecure, which is very natural considering her background, but even then I never felt she actually believed Tadano would abandon her because of those insecurities. She probably had stronger doubts about her own ability to make him happy than him staying with her. Impostor syndrome is a thing, and it's about self-doubt, not external threats. Well, that's my take on it. This girl's just an external expression of Komi's internal doubts.

while Komi dearly wants connections but has struggled to make them until she met Tadano.
Honestly, I find that while Komi has problems communicating, as per the main premise, actually making friends comes fairly natural to her. Of course, she also tries her best on top of that, so I'm not saying there's no effort on her part.

That is the case only because she has grown and actually conveyed her intentions and true nature. Everyone still adores her but for very different reasons than in the beginning (at least those that don't lust for her).

At the beginning she was just popular, and that was it. Pretty and quiet, everyone thought of her as perfect and unapproachable. She wouldn't have made any actual friend because of that, just fans. Tadano was the one actively doing stuff to make others realize the type of person that she is, and most bonded with her because of their defects, not because she is just pretty.

She might have always had a good heart and mind, but not the skills to really do something with them. After Tadano taught her with his example, she changed, and this arc is the proof of it since Tadano was barely present at all. This is why this arc is so important for her character.

She's grown so she can now much better communicate her intentions and true nature, yes. That's what I said.
