That is the thing that I don't understand as well, komi tankobon volume sales are doing well each time it was announced with more than 100k sold each volume and still able to retain its position for at least 2 weeks in weekly top 40 manga volumes sold according to oricon. So for a SoL romcom manga from shounen sunday that is actually pretty good if we compare it to a more known series in the same genre such as kaguya or gotoubun.

The reason probably is still located in difficulties in animating the manga itself, the side characters are too many and komi herself rarely speaks. It's too risky.
