I can definitely understand that feeling of wanting to vent about your job but it's also true that can get tiresome after a while. Me and my work friends would make an effort to cut out the complaining as much as possible whenever doing stuff outside of work.

Rule no.1 - There are no friends in work, there are only work friends
Rule no.2 - Never complain about work with coworkers

This 2 simple rules can get you out of so many unnecessary dramas and troubles... I can't even count how many times I was saved by those. Thank god I had so good mentor in my 1st job.

There's an older German song called "Das bißchen Haushalt ... sagt mein Mann" which talks about how women shouldn't complain about what they have in life compared to the men. Mitsuya's complaints about work and how it's so easy to be a man reminded me of the song and how there's a bit of irony both in the song and her comments of the ignorance of being so confident in saying that women or men have it easier.

I'd only change Rule 1 in: triple check or quadra check if your coworker can be friends or just coworkers. Some people are genuine enough that you can find a real friend even in work environment.
Rule 2 is sacrosant

Then there's the hidden rule 3; never be the supervisor/manager for your friends if you work together

Okay, several points.

1. The complete lack of empathy for men and thinking men have it the best even though in these working conditions it's common place for men to be over worked. There's a reason it's a trope that men get more work piled on thier plate than women and that men tend to stay later into the night than women to get all the work other's can't do done.

2. Once again ignoring women's bitching. This treats women like angels while ignoring women berating, complaining, bitching, nagging, lying, backstabbing, betraying, and gossiping while we have women gossiping in this very chapter. Men are awful for the complaining they do, but we can't get a chapter with the female cast without them ragging on their significant other.

3. She's says this from her cushy office job. Would love to see this energy when talking about electricians, mechanics, construction, or plumbing. Or you know, any other hard, laborious or life threatening job men do.

A manga highlighting differences between men and women. I wonder how slanted it's going to be.

"Naturally, compared to the women, there won't be many stories of limitations or disadvantages 'just because we're men'."
Of course not. If you say men have it worse than women in anything you're likely to get cancelled. Though it's been changing recently, even if Japan isn't on the bus. They still have a culture of women quitting jobs to take care of children, which has a ton of effects on how people act and various other things.

Yeah, pretty much as expected. Treating an individual workplace's culture as a "men's" thing, while ignoring what we've heard the women talk about.

there's a bit of irony both in the song and her comments of the ignorance of being so confident in saying that women or men have it easier.
Yeah, most people who say one way or the other just have no idea what it's like on the other side of the fence. Different genders, different problems. Usually.

I think if we accept and understand both men and women have difficulties that they face at work instead of undermining them, the world will be a better place.

Also, I've had a few post-work group of guys over the years. There's one that just bitch the whole time, even if sometimes it's clear they're at fault. There's another that one-up and humble brag. But in the end, the group of guys I always end up with are the ones I made in school where we bitch, brag, catch up and reminisce.

Very interesting chapter. Remember, the manga isn't telling us that women have a tougher time at a job, and it doesn't tell us the opposite either. We just see his perspective.

Oh yeah, complaining about work. All because work is...you know, work. If there were no work to do and everyone had goods and money to live freely, there were no such things as shitty bosses, annoying coworkers, useless managers, ugly clients, boring afterwork parties and so and so on.
I'm just glad that Tateishi has friends like Tamura and Kuramatsu.

I don't remember where but I saw a study once that said that a majority of women I Japan actually WANT to quit once married.
Idk if it's actually leggit stat tho. But from what I know of the culture and habits of friends that live there it wouldn't surprise me if that was true.

Yeah, if you look up dating culture in the West, you find a lot of women who don't even want to start working.

It's the kind of thing that promotes the black company work culture, since the economy isn't what it was back when those kinds of families started.
