But they're teenagers, maybe they don't initially question their sexuality, but start to later on? It does happen in real life. I mean, sometimes people who think they're heterosexual only realize they're not even way later in life. The author could make it super duper clear from the very start of the story that they're questioning their sexuality as a warning sign to any reader who absolutely does not want to read about any type of heterosexual relationship, but I don't think they're obliged to. I can see why you might find a story where a "lesbian" is "cured of their lesbianism with the power of dick" repulsive, but that is hardly this story, is it?
They are also teenagers who are aware of their sexuality. It's more accurate now with all the good representations we have here and there (still not enough). Some question it others don't. I'm not saying that no one question it later on or don't discover other sexuality later in their lives.
I'm just asking the authors to be more honest with their representations. Putting a lesbian, a gay, someone who's invalid, someone who's homophobic or misogynistic will attract readers who identify as that or are interest to read a story about this kind of character. Some authors do a really bad representations of some community. Warn them before hurting them.
Concerning this manga, this is not a GL. The story is not center on the relationship between the two girls. I take a look at the first chapter and clearly this is not made for me or anyone who wants to read a love story between two women. And adding the GL as one of the main tag is bullshit.
And I'm not going to read the whole story because this doesn't interest me.
And I'm passing by that they are objectifying the two girls and by extension lesbian relationship. Having a lesbian in there is just a way to put some twist in the story and eventually make them fall in love with dude.
This shouldn't have the GL tag. Even other sites don't tag it as GL but as a romcom.
Putting the GL just because there are one lesbian who don't end up with the girl, mostly interact with the dude and even fall for him, is stupid.
This share the same energy with the seinen which are stupidly violent, have gore, sexual abuse and the GL tag.
I'm not saying they are the same but the way they use the lesbian character is the same. It's for the twist, have some "diversity" and eventually belittle her sexuality.
