Leaving us on a pretest cliffhanger is so typical of these types of manga. Like there'd be any twists that are possible in this scenario other than actually failing (well there's this great teacher that got literally shot three times and placing first in nationals after but no way anything is one upping that)

Im just going to say it, this premise would work better if their parents were dead. It doesn't work in his case because his parents are not abusive or poor, so they come off as selfish no matter how you try to slice it.

Children shouldn't be raising children it's great to have bond with your siblings they can be your best friends but the dynamic that of caregiver not a best friend.

He's 15 years old even if this is what he wants his parents should be stepping in because it's their job to raise their children.
I may be in the minority here, and I should preface that I am an only child, but I just find his level of dedication to his siblings (stepsiblings, in fact) to be a bit too much; the girl seems somewhat more measured with her own brother, but the dude's just going all out to raise them kids like they're his own. I agree it'd make more sense if their parents were dead and he was forced into that role.

sadly esp in a lot of asian housholds, both parents are workaholics, there are often times where parents are too busy trying to provide for their families thinking providing is the best thing for the kids, but the kids just want to spend time with their parents. ESP in cases like this where there is an older sibling, they get pushed all the parenting responsibilities. Yea does the neglect sucks, yes, but at least the mc is there and is much better than overworked parents taking their frustation on their kids. I think what ItsThatBriGuy said sums it up. Their not bad parents, they need to communicate better. The one thing I wanna know is that what about the twin's mom? Do we know anything about her, is she dead or not? why don't we see the mom or even MC's dad? idk if they say what happen, i don't remember
No no... They ARE bad parents... Good parents would work something out to spend time with their kids and make sure they're not left alone... Their youngests shouldn't be raised by their big brother (or a baby-sitter) it's their own fucking job

The parents seem like the kind to think that money can buy their way out of problems with their children but can’t be home because they are busy working two jobs or more earning said money.

They are also the same kind of parents these days that would put their young kids on tablets to watch Cocomelon so that they can work on their laptop than to actually raise their kids. And then wonder years down the road what has gone wrong before,

From what I've read, Japan seems to be full of workaholics and feminists.

Still a shitty dad and mom... If they care so much, they can show up in their kids lives instead of being absent...
I mean that's the point the guys was bringing up
These parents are products of toxic workaholic culture of Japanese society...you're good if you can work...if you can't work then you're shit...they have been groomed that way from early stages to the point work is number 1 of their priorities...they don't even give a shit about your physical or mental health being when it comes to work
I mean the MC literally is like that...he thinks he should not inconvenience his parents when it's OK for him to do so and clearly even the parents wants him to do that but he wouldn't...same goes for the parents...they know they can solve their children's problems if theyre around, but wouldn't because as i said above work is their #1 priority...it's literally ingrained into them by their society...it's no wonder they have a high depression and suicide rate because they're literal corporate slaves who are programmed to work work work and work

No you're right...it's a bit too much...it's not like hiring a babysitter will completely separate him from the twins, not even for a day...he'll still get to see them every day and interact with them every day...they'll be only away at best couple hours but these mofos in comment section treating it like dad is completely separating them both which I don't know how they came to that conclusion
