Not sure if the previous group dropped this due to how bad the ending is and gave up..

To me it seemed that they dropped it, because the pause in publication of chapters was too long. According to the title page on the magazine site, the last (7th) volume was published in Q4 2025, whereas the penultimate (6th) in 2021 and prior volumes were published once a year ± a couple months.
