Anyone know what this sentence at the bottom of page 12 means?
Based on the context, I assume it means something along the lines of he doesn't have enough money to return to his home in the countryside but am not certain.
@KenseiSeraph His plan is to move out to the countryside and involve himself with big town business as little as possible, holing up is putting it frankly, but the "I'm not trying to say I want to get out of your presence asap" way of saying it is what he switched to. to be a hermit, one needs capital after all.
