He’s definitely a creep and just not a good person too for the reasons everyone stated already. He should be helping Kaede clear up this misunderstanding so these entitled students stop harassing her, but he’s instead actively making it worse and is not taking it seriously at all.

What is more likely happening is a simple misalignment of their perspectives on the situation. No he's not taking that situation seriously because, as an adult man, why the fuck would he be taking relationship drama of a bunch of teenagers seriously? Does shooting his shot at that particular moment point to a lack of social grace and emotional intelligence? Yes. Does it point to a guy who ignores set boundaries with malicious intent? Fuck no. He's just fumbling.

No, he's not doing everything right but it happens. People are messy. Interacting and communicating with people is messy. This black and white thinking that turns average human imperfections into red flags is so fucking immature. If it helps to not immediately cast the man as a villain and just a human being who lacks some social graces consider adding that he has a touch of autism to your head canon. Goddamn I don't even want to be on here acting like a meninist dickhead or whatever but we have to take a step back and touch grass when a guy who is so careful of not overstepping that the total of 2 comments he's made that could so barely qualify as as flirtatious that they don't even register as such to their intended target get him labeled as a creep. If the take aways to that were as simple as "wow bad timing dude" or "something tells me this guy is bad at communicating" I'd just nod in agreement. But "he's a creep and not a good person" is fucking insane.

i understand that they're just teenagers, but wow, these students irritate me... why would you ever bring a teacher into your love drama? let alone if they're perfectly within their right to date another teacher, considering they're actually an adult. did she really think an adult in a actual legal relationship is someone stealing away her crush??

treating a teacher like your high school friend who cheated with your boyfriend is bizarre to me. and i know everyone's different, but i don't think i'd have reacted or even thought like that even as a middle schooler.

and why do the teachers have to tip toe around the students' romantic lives? a student freaks out on you for going on an outing with another teacher and your first thought is to "consider their feelings before acting" and "pick somewhere further to avoid misunderstandings"...?? it quite literally feels like the teachers are high schoolers as well.

these teachers (or at least mc) really don't have any boundaries with their students. it's one thing to bond with and cherish your students and another to let them walk all over you. at the end of the day, it's still a teacher-student relationship, they're not peers and she shouldn't let them think of her that way.

i don't think i've ever read something so insanely frustrating. and with so much trivial overblown drama that shouldn’t matter to any adult.
