What boils my blood is that those two girls were in on it.
Completely fine with other young girls being raped.
Fucking scum.
I'm impressed at the author dodging the trap of having to draw a "near rape" situation that they put themselves into.
That said it's still a dumb plot device as ever, and this one make zero sense this random high schooler had somehow more accomplices than organised crime.
Reality is ever so often unrealistic. Exceptionalism will cause people to think "well it's not happening to
me, so big whoop." You'll see it everywhere, including in history both ancient and recent: plenty of women worked against the suffrage movement, plenty of PoCs thought themselves exceptions to the Nazi's machinations... Hell, look into the news and you'll find distinctly Spanish names mentioned as members of ICE. For some people, it's just not a problem until it starts happening to them.
Meanwhile with enough influence and publicity, anyone can find themselves in a position of influence and authority. For a "positive" example, Greta Thunberg became an activism icon
on a global scale at the ripe old age of
fifteen. Having enough clout and surface-level charisma to put together a modestly-sized operation is downright mundane in comparison. Plus, it's possible that not
all of the individuals taking part are entirely in on the plan.
It does overall feel rather forced given the tone of the manga, but credit where credit is due; other MCs have gotten equal or bigger harems for far less than literally saving all of them from being assaulted. It gives more credence to them going from admiring his earnestness and work ethic to outright falling for him.
And hey, at least it was only the one incident and not needing to save each individual girl from getting assaulted on separate occasions. So if nothing else it's dealt with swiftly.
