I think we have a lot of information from these brief lives actually:

The Goddess is not intrinsically on Cecelia’s side. Whilst she is aiding her, she is doing so for her amusement, not humanity’s benefit.

The entity is already possessing Milfina (she shielded herself from outside interference but it was already inside), the generals don’t necessarily know of its existence (Lapience’s surprise at her attacking Cecelia), and it is NOT the Goddess or on her “side” (the entity did not know the details of Cecelia’s loop until she told Milfina).

According to Milfina the generals would not be suspects (though she does seem naive), but individually we can probably rule out Lapience and Kiana (she is a straightforward head on attacker and wants to defeat the Demon King in combat. Possessing her would be both cowardly and undermine that goal.)

Maria is all about blaspheming and degradation. Possessing or facilitating the possession of an entity with resurrection and life giving powers to turn it into a creature of genocide would definitely fit that milieu. And Nefi is harder to understand, she was the one who facilitated the marriage so sabotaging it right from the get go seems counter productive, even from an “amusement” level. She is also presented as the most likely subject, ironically making her the least. A red herring.

So: if the generals or an outside person IS to blame I can safely say that they are separate from whatever is inside Milfina. Her shielding would have prevented outside interference so it’s safe to say that it is inside at all times. It’s goal may be simply to do things for its own amusement: facilitating a genocidal war between demonkind and humanity when the Demon King isn’t really inclined to would definitely fit that bill, and sabotaging any attempt to come to peace terms would be in their best interests. The generals and Milfina don’t truly seem to grasp the concept of life and death, and the war itself seems to be just an amusing past time that could be replaced just as easily by anything else that takes their fancy. They’re like 40k Orks: they’re in it for the fight. If they wipe out humanity they’ll get bored, so telling them that humanity will engage in endless wargames in return for free resurrections would be right up their alley.

So my theory is that it is another “God” or the agent of a “God” that is “opposed” to the Goddess. That this is just another round in the giant game they’ve been playing with demons and humans as their playing pieces. And they don’t truly care about the outcome other than for their amusement, but are still wanting to win. Hence the Goddess helping Cecilia as her agent, but not giving her information that would ruin the actual playing of the game.

a tragic love story between two opposing queens on a god's chessboard does actually sound like an interesting premise for a manga.

Just asking... There's a vol 2? Because it feels like everything will be over in one volume

Got is so diamond eyes is definitely a red herring
So ruling her out we got... I still think it's none of the above
Watch eye slowly rule out the others

What dish is ruined cause butter melted?
Does it not melt naturally when mixed in, or this some cooking knowledge I know not?

So it's finally become to heavy ay, and then we get some more Yuri moments FINALLY
Oh it's SO begun
I think, I think things are starting to go red
SO RED AND FLUFFY

Oh yeah
My theory of being another personality may actually be true to an extent
Smells like the true demon king persona, and milfina be the one created in boredom, and perhaps to let the humans guard down as well, cause boredom
And would explain how she still came out despite the shields, and how she knows despite not being told
And I mean, timing was specific to interrupt the Yuri moment, almost like she doesn't want milfina getting too close OOOOHHH
Alright princess surely you know what do do now YOU MUST STEAL THE HEART OF HER TRUE SOUL TO ACHIEVE THE TRUST YURI- I MEAN SAVE THE DAY- no I don't, FOR THE YURI

Have a nice day

As for the plot. I am 99% sure it is none of the demons. Which is leaving 2 choices (since the entity is knowing that she can ressurect as well):
-either it is some evil twin of that goddess.
-or it is the goddess herself.

I think Cecilia's maid is the real killer. Her behavior was always suspicious. Maybe she wasn't human?

At this point I just think milfia had double personality, I'ma guess she made it so that she could live in peace and not have deal with the things she did

What determination, and that is with her heart punched right out of her body. What a bada** of a women, she has my respect. :chad:

I guess we will learn that soon enough, 3 more times is not much and I did predict that she will possibly get more than 3. But I guess we shall see in the next several chapters. Hopefully more wholesome ones than this...

Poor Cecilia, where is Kratos when you need him to make things right?
Honestly I'm right there with you, But my mindset is that it might just be the main character doing it unknowingly or it's the goddess. That goddess really seems to be just a bored little shit who quite honestly does not care about what happens in her world, if that goddess is supposed to be good then I don't really wanna see what an evil twin of her would be.
Could also be the crown, considering the theories people came up with. Why is Milfina the Demon King? The Royal? Because she's strong? Born into it? Idk, a magical object could very well be the reason, something the goddess may have set up for her own amusement.

While I agree with you, not all time-loop stories use their time travel mechanics to "arm" the protagonist with information.
I am aware I am being a pedantic fucker but two examples that come to mind are Steins:Gate, that uses time-travel as a framing device for the different routes in a VN. And (my favourite misery porn) My fiance is in love with my little sister (the manga and the WN) where the long time spent in each iteration only serves to push the protagonist further into despair. And the deaths are only the author sadistically pulling the knife out and raising it high in preparation for the next time (s)he'll stab you.
In neither examples can I argue that the protagonists use information from the previous loops to "solve" their predicament and survive their fate. Both examples more or less are solved via deus ex machina. But each one still takes it's time for each loop.

A great example of the kind of story you're describing, that pops in my mind because it's currently ongoing, is Akujo Kyosei Keikaku (here), and that has looooong stetches before each reset. Great characters and great scheeming / long time planning by the time-travelling protag.

Finally in this manga too the protagonist gains new information each loop and is trying to unravell her situation to survive longer. It's just happening at a much quicker pace because the only option Cecilia has to gain information is to interact with Milphina directly or her attendants... both of which will result in her death each time. And the time frame over which she reincarnates is very short, she's explicitly not given enough time after reincarnating to be able to make any kind of move. It's great!

Boy I am rambling. tldr: I don't have any friends to talk to about this stuff and used you as an excuse to organize my thoughts in writtting. Reply to this post at your risks and perils.
Thanks for the recommendations :win:
