It's already established he has zero sense for financies (and probably many other everyday things in life). He has to leave all that to a manager and concentrate on fighting, which he does well. As immoral as Lapis might sometimes be, Loren still needs someone like that to make sure he simply has food to eat every day. So, no, he won't think of saving money or avoiding debt by sharing a room.
