I totally thought we were going to see that he his "bloody" nickname came from him not wearing glasses back then and walking into everything or something like that. The "everyone thinks I'm a delinquent because I can't see very well and don't have glasses for some reason" misunderstanding seems to happen just often enough to be a trope, I guess.
