@Frozeneye To answer the bit on the fact that this (and many other such series) are released overseas as manga, at least at first....

Note that most licensed series for overseas consumption are negotiated for by the overseas publisher. It's not usually the Japanese local publisher who goes looking for a buyer to publish overseas.

Foreign publishers target manga because it easily sells more than novels and is easier translate, since it has an order of magnitude less text. Making sure such a series fits into a grander publishing strategy is less important, since in the international market, it only has to compete against other series that have also been similarly translated. Many of which are released by that publisher anyway, as many foreign regions are dominated by monopolies for manga.

Basically, it's efficient for foreign publishers to pick up a decent basket of titles to translate and just release, knowing a decent enough market buys it up due to lack of variety and availability. They're not necessarily concerned with investing or strategizing further, unless it's a mega-brand name like a Jump series or something. That's very different from Japan, where LNs and anime can easily sell more than manga.

Yeah, the manga is currently on LN volume 4 of 12. But, there's also the fact that even the LN hasn't reach the point where the WN stopped.

P.D: I skipped a lot of spoilers in the "small" list I made some comments ago starting with the fact that the manga is skipping half of each LN volume because it's not adapting the "Hero Side" of the story.

But given their relationship. Ariel must have been a spider too at some point, so she should know they can't speak and thus likely have no exposure to and can't understand the language. So what the heck is with her expectation? She should have some other method of communicating if she has any contact with Mother.

Still better ways of signing than "NO" and hoping they magically understand what the "no" is for. Gestures to ears, mouth, or even doing nothing is better than randomly refusing. Since she hopes/d to interact with humans some day, you'd think she would have thought about this some, since she knows she doesn't speak their language.

The whole scene just feels poorly thought out.

@Wolfwhistler Haha, no, she appeared in the middle of Kumo's argument with herself. She even had time to deny the possibility two times. It was a discussion already. When you hear an urgent warning from a reputable source (if you don't count yourself as a reputable source, it's time to visit a shrink), you react immediately, without asking for further descriptions and especially without trying to present counter-arguments.

Consider this in the military:
Warning: "It's a grenade, get down!"
You: "No, I don't think they have any grenades left."
W: "What? I just saw them launch it!"
Y: "Still, how likely is it that they would have any left?"
Grenade: "Boom. You are dead. Congrats."

Kumoko, with her meager 9K speed wouldn't be able to escape even if she bolted without questions the moment she heard that she's in danger. The x10 difference in stats is overwhelming. She barely managed to escape even from mother before (20K speed), and even puppet taratects (~10K speed) are a challenge is she wouldn't be able to detect them way beforehand using map function of wisdom. And in this case even her detection skill wasn't able to keep up with the speed of the Demon Lord, which is on pair with instantaneous teleportation, given her supersonic (if not hypersonic) speed.

@Rugid Then I'll just say it again: The manga failed to depict that appropriately. She didn't try and fail. Furthermore, it was her own parallel mind that connected to warm her about the danger. Why warn yourself if you think there's no chance? Whether it's to escape or prepare for it otherwise. Besides, with the kind of speeds they possess, it's more about the ability to track, unless the setting is a linear tunnel or a vast open field.

Parallel minds, obviously, can't use appraisal, much less anything else while bing inside mother. They just knew that "this girl is more dangerous than mother" but didn't knew how much dangerous she really is. They thought they had a time to warn the main body, but warning came basically at the same time as Demon Lord arrived.

Besides, with the kind of speeds they possess, it's more about the ability to track

She can't track things om map she didn't encounter. And her detection range isn't that big to detect anything that can move at 90K speed stat.
