She clearly knows something and is probably a witch, but we don't know if she has evil intentions or is trying to save them from something else. Remember in the previous chapter the cat itself stole the spell away so there may be a reason.

I knew it. I've thought, "witch hunter," for a while and I think I'm a step closer to finding out. Could be just a witch, but then why all this?

I'm beginning to feel like Shirayuki is jealous. That, or she's from a different faction that's anti-Kuromori.

It feels as if she's stopping any spells that involve him in its making. But, then, why also help in their creation?
In my personal opinion as a Trope Master, she's likely a witch from a rival coven or jealous family tired of living in the shadow of "Mama". Which might explain why she helps, but also hinders. Seeing that he is such an amazing catalyst/warlock (the male equivalent to witch), she might be trying to sway his affection so that his power comes to her side. Stealing the shirts to stop "Mama" from coming back, but also to show her own group he is worth bringing in. This is all speculation though.

is there a light novel to this? Is there anyone who can tell me why that black hair girl is doing all this?

I think everybody is missing the fact that not only did she give them the one ingredient that they lacked in order to make the spell, but she also made sure to give them 2 of it and only took one of the two shirts with her. That, and the face that she's making at the end shows regret and sorrow for the actions she's taking.

My guess is that she not only knows of their situation, but is also in a similar one, with one of her loved ones being in a spell or needing it for a "request"; It's also entirely possible that she knows the truth of the whole situation and is trying to make sure they don't end up hurt. It's too early to tell with certainty.

Also, for those saying that she's a witch too: I highly doubt it; our FMC avoids people due to electrical things malfunctioning around her and this doesn't happen around Shirayuki (or at least hasn't been known to happen, things not working is a rather notorious problem). She's either a high level witch (with a spell that let's her act human), a half-witch or a human with a witch family.

Oh wow I totally didn't except this

P.S. She appeared outta nowhere with a swan feather. Talk about stalking with an invisibility spell. The irony.

Well, the slow, steady development over five chapters was effective; I'm totally hooked. I ship Kuromori & the Mc; I'm curious about the MC's true nature; & the strange interplay between these two and Shirayuki has me wondering what direction the plot is going to take from here. Intriguing!!!

@VladDracul2 We're thinking the same thing here. I think the part where she has to go home at 5 is already a big clue. She was also seen near a hospital and was acting nervously. If I had to make a funny, blind guess, shirayuki's prince was put under a sleeping curse (get it? ?).

Now, a bit on the other stuff. If we think of shirayuki as a witch (or at least, someone who knows about magic), then she probably already knows about kuromori with her being from an old bloodline of witches. Then she got lucky when she found out about the MC maybe having magic, too. Now with the golden goose, it says it attaches people together but so far, it only made people with magic and shirayuki stick to each other. Remember, MC and kuromori had to be carried by several people to the infirmary and none of them got stuck with the MC. So by now, we can assume that shirayuki might just be a witch. But then, why need the MC to make the dispel magic?

The second incident was the ali baba and the forty thieves. Don't you think it was a bit too much of a coincidence that not only was shirayuki there but she was the last one to enter and closed the door? The whole incident was probably just her way of testing the MC's power. Maybe to see if he has strong enough magic to break a curse she's having trouble with

If, somehow, I was correct in my assumption about her having a curse problem of her own, then why couldn't she have just dealt with it on her own? I think it may have to do with her either being not a witch (which would be odd because she just used a sleep spell) and just someone who happens to know about the existence of magic or she is a witch but her magic is not good enough. Let's find out on the next chapter. ?
