either 1: a group got blocked on MD or 2: one of the many many casualties during the great DMCA purgeHuh? I remember this manga had much more chapters. Are they deleted?
if the later were the case i think the chapters are available as "unavailable chapters"?either 1: a group got blocked on MD or 2: one of the many many casualties during the great DMCA purge
It was translated up to chapter 7 by Bega Translation who got banned (See mod note on group page), thus their uploads were deleted.Huh? I remember this manga had much more chapters. Are they deleted?
It is dumb af that after a group gets banned their translations also get deleted. There is no reason for this shit.It was translated up to chapter 7 by Bega Translation who got banned (See mod note on group page), thus their uploads were deleted.

Do you know what actually happened? That's the second group I've seen banned recently for breaking clause 5.2.22. There are probably more, given that it's hard to notice when chapters are deleted. For reference, the rule is that you can't "use the Site as part of any effort to compete with us or otherwise use the Site and/or the Content for any revenue-generating endeavor or commercial enterprise". Given that Patreon generates revenue, I'm pretty sure that would include half the groups on this site if enforced strictly. It was translated up to chapter 7 by Bega Translation who got banned (See mod note on group page), thus their uploads were deleted.
That group had a Patreon too. As far as I'm aware, you can receive donations on Patreon to help support the scanlation team and even post chapters early on their own site/Patreon, but you'll have to eventually upload hereDo you know what actually happened? Interesting. Paywalling chapters has historically been allowed, and IIRC in the previous version of MD you could even set a time delay for uploads which would be visible on the title page. It's probably a good thing that that's gone given that it incentivizes paywalling, but I don't think paywalling itself is against the rules unless something has changed. The one exception I can think of would be posting a placeholder chapter that just links to your site/Patreon, but I don't think that would get you banned unless you ignored warnings and reuploaded them after removals. That group had a Patreon too. They most likely got banned because they've had lots of chapters on Patreon that weren't uploaded here
Many forms of timed releases and contextual/temporary paywalls are still permitted, AFAIK (though going anywhere extreme with that is playing with fire, ofc). Multiple scanlators whose stuff I follow consistently pre-release their chapters on their own sites, for example. One thing many groups like this get blammed for is (even effectively) only posting some of your releases here as advertising for another site as a "the first one is free" kind of scheme. That one runs afoul of more than one rule (5.2.22 majorly included) for a pretty good reason. The only ones exempt from that are publishers, pretty much and for obvious, unfortunate reasons.Interesting. EDIT: Found some posts about it in the support channel on Discord regarding another group that got banned for having chapters paywalled since last month. They claim they weren't warned. It seems like any form of paywalling is just not allowed now. Patreon is looked down on but allowed (though the ToS doesn't actually say it has that exception). Nuking a group's entire upload history without warning is pretty crazy.
